Former Strictly star Wynne Evans has revealed he was taken to hospital after attempting to take his own life.
The Welsh singer, 53, opened up about his mental health battles during an appearance on Good Morning Britain earlier today (Wednesday, November 19).

Last year saw Wynne appear on Strictly Come Dancing. The singer was partnered up with Katya Jones. However, his time on the show was mired in controversy.
During one episode of the show, Wynne was seen moving his hand along Katya’s waist before she moved it back. She was also seen ignoring a high-five from the star. However, the duo maintained they’d been joking around.
Wynne was later stepped back from the Strictly tour after using “inapropriate language” in a press call for the show.
He was subsequently dropped from his BBC Radio Wales show, as well as the Go Compare adverts, which had catapulted him to fame in 2009.
Now, the star has opened up about the impact the Strictly scandals have had on him.

Speaking to Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid on today’s edition of GMB, Wynne said: “I went on a dancing show and ended up trying to take my own life.
“I did end up in hospital – somebody found me, rung an ambulance and luckily for me, I’m here today,” he said.
Continuing, he said that people on social media had “hounded” him following his Strictly scandals.
“They hound and hound and hound you. It’s been interesting watching the Caroline Flack programme of late because in your head, you go, the only way I can make these people stop is by taking my life,” he said.
Wynne opens up
The star continued, saying: “You’re punishing not them, you’re actually punishing yourself and your family. I’ve realised that since but at the time, I thought the only way I could make this noise stop in my head.”
Wynne was then asked if he could turn back time, would he still have signed up for the show.
“I wish I’d had a better insight into it before I went into it. It’s given me a greater understanding of my own mental health and where I am in my life and how I can help other people who don’t want to talk about mental health,” he said.
“I’m learning from my mistakes but not letting them define me for the rest of my life.”
Susanna then read out a statement from the BBC. “We provided a comprehensive duty of care for Wynne, including support by wellbeing professionals. He was also provided with direct access to a designated contact at the BBC who was able to assist him at anytime. He’s been offered continued support since his contract with the BBC concluded.”
