A new Coronation Street fan theory has predicted that newcomer Becky Swain will die in January 2026 during the crossover episode.
Becky Swain has only just turned up in Weatherfield, revealing herself to actually be alive after years of her family believing her to be dead.
But, should they get used to having her around? Not everybody thinks so.

Becky Swain’s not dead
Lisa and Betsy Swain thought that Becky died almost four years ago while on duty.
They believed that she died during a police chase involving the Radcliffe brothers, even holding a funeral for her and laying flowers on her grave.
This month though, Becky turned up alive and explained that she was working undercover but had to flee to Alicante to protect Lisa and Betsy from a criminal gang leader called Curtis.
She’d faked her own death and had taken the identity of a woman named Tia Wardley.
Lisa was furious over Becky’s lies and told her to stay away from her family. But, Becky then told her that she’d be sticking around, reuniting with Betsy.

Coronation Street fan theory predicts Becky Swain will die in soap crossover
With the ITV soaps both gearing up for big changes in 2026, a special Emmerdale and Coronation Street crossover episode will air in January to mark the introduction of ‘soap power hour.’
In this episode, a new theory has suggested that Becky Swain might be killed off. This would mean that she would only be on screen for a few months before her demise.
One fan on X wrote: “Anyway my theory is that Becky gets killed in the Corrie x Emmerdale crossover.”
Another replied: “Nah can’t cope with her over Xmas and New Year, it’s gotta be sooner. As much as I’d love John [Sugden] to shoot an arrow and actually hit bullseye, I want her out now.”
But, has Becky only ‘returned from the dead’ to be killed off?
Coronation Street usually airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV.
