How Angry Ginge ‘lost thousands’ despite winning I’m A Celebrity and won’t see a penny in ITV prize money

He is poised to win massively from his time on the show, though…

| Updated:

Angry Ginge was named King of the Jungle last night (December 7), but the streamer isn’t exactly rolling in it as a result…

Last night’s series finale saw 24-year-old Ginge – real name Morgan Burtwhistle – named the 2025 champion.

As a result, he’ll go down in the show’s history books as the first-ever streamer to win the show. However, he reportedly risked a lot financially to head into the jungle, and hasn’t profited (yet) from his exit…

I’m A Celebrity star Angry Ginge ‘loses thousands’ during jungle stint

Ginge took five-week break from his lucrative live-streaming to go into the jungle. And, as a result, the Mail reports he missed out on cashing in with Christmas brand deals.

A source alleged of the Twitch streamer: “Ginge has lost hundreds of thousands of pounds coming on to this show. But he didn’t do it for him, he did it to make his mum proud. He missed out on all the brand deals on the run up to Christmas and a month of streaming.”

The man himself added: “I remember her [his mum, Michelle] saying years ago that one of her main aims was that she wanted to go to Australia and I managed to get her a free holiday there. I didn’t do it for publicity. I just did it because I’ve got an opportunity here to live an eight-year-old Morgan’s dream and to make my mum proud.”

‘Missing’ prize money

Ginge also won’t see any prize money from ITV. That’s because celebrities are paid a flat fee for taking part. The show doesn’t have a cash prize.

He’ll also be forced to hand back the wooden carved sceptre he was given by reigning King of the Jungle Danny Jones on last night’s show. It’ll be passed on by Ginge to whoever wins the 2026 run of the show.

We imagine he can keep the flower crown, though… Until it wilts, that is!

‘Logical next step’ for Ginge

However, the future is looking bright for Ginge, and he’ll soon recoup the money he’s missed out on, according to the latest odds.

According to odds shared by Slingo, Ginge is hotly tipped to co-present Soccer Aid with pal Aitch next year. The prime-time TV team-up has odds of 6/5 on of going ahead.

Spokesperson Kayleigh Cornelius said: “Standout stars from this year’s series, Aitch and Angry Ginge, are heavily tipped to land a joint deal. With their shared love of sport and Manchester United bringing them together, it’s easy to see why they’re 6/5 to take on a joint presenting role for Soccer Aid 2026, stepping in for fellow campmate Alex Scott during the World Cup.”

Watch out Ant and Dec

Aitch and Ginge are also now placed at 7/5 to land their own reality show following their jungle antics. They’re also at 11/7 to become the new hosts of Sky Sports’ Baller League. It would mark huge potential for both of their careers.

“TV producers will no doubt be preparing for a bidding war to secure Angry Ginge and Aitch as a joint act. I would not be surprised if entering the jungle together was part of a pre-agreed pact between the pair, giving them the ideal platform to show how naturally they bounce off one another on screen,” Kayleigh added.

“Nothing about their partnership feels manufactured. And that authenticity is proving to be a major draw for viewers. Their chemistry translates effortlessly on camera. And this is exactly the kind of connection broadcasters look for when scouting long-term presenting talent. For Ginge especially, a move into television feels like the logical next step.”
