Strictly Come Dancing star George Clarke and his pro partner Alexis Warr were on It Takes Two tonight (October 16), where host Janette Manrara asked them about Saturday night’s scoring row.
On Saturday night (October 11), George and Alexis performed their Couple’s Choice, inspired by the Netflix film K-Pop Demon Hunters. Shirley Ballas loved it and gave it a 9. Craig Revel Horwood didn’t and gave it a 6. The two then clashed, to the extent that the BBC was forced to issue a statement denying that there was behind-the-scenes tension between the pair.

It Takes Two host Janette asks pair to address ‘enormous headline’
On the BBC Two spin-off show tonight, Janette asked the couple about the headlines.
Speaking about last weekend’s show, she asked: “Well, we do have to address one enormous headline from the whole evening – Craig versus Shirley.”
She continued: “They disagreed about your synchronicity in the dance. Why do you think the performance divided them so much, Alexis? And who do you agree with?”
New Strictly pro Alexis told her: “I feel like with Couple’s Choice it kind of comes with the territory, especially when we’re doing hip hop. I agree with what Motsi [Mabuse] said, how you’ve got to have that grove.”

‘Sometimes it’s not about being perfectly in sync’
Hitting back at Craig’s comments about their lack of synchronicity, she added: “Sometimes it’s not always about being perfectly in sync, but I get where both of them are coming from.”
Chuckling, she added: “I obviously agree with Shirley. I’m happy that she saw all the good qualities in it because he [George] worked so hard. I was just so impressed with how he executed it. It was a lot of content.”

Turning to George, Janette then asked: “You got a 6 from Craig and a 9 from Shirley. It’s so hard to pick whose feedback you go with…”
George quipped: “Well I’ll take it on board for the next K-Pop number I do,” before adding: “I think I just try to listen to both and not let the lower scores get to you and equally not let the higher scores get to you and take it all on board and learn from it.”
On this weekend’s show, George and Alexis will dance a Tango to Coldplay’s Viva La Vida.
You can catch this week’s Strictly on BBC One on Saturday (October 18) at 6.30pm.
