Katie Price has issued a health update on son Harvey, revealing the 23-year-old could soon be put on a new weight-loss drug.
Harvey was born with Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic condition causing learning difficulties as well as constant hunger.
Katie Price shares update on Harvey
Earlier this year, Katie expressed concern that Harvey’s weight had reached a “life-threatening” level.
In a new update, Katie opened up on the topic in the latest episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, today (November 27).
Addressing a recent snap she’d shared of Harvey in hospital, she explained: “There are talks of fat jabs, of Mounjaro, for him, but they’ve actually got a new weight loss drug coming out. It’s new, they’ve actually clinically tested it on people and they’ve got a few people they’re putting on it first and if it works, Harvey can go on it in the New Year.”
‘That is not the correct way to do things’
“They want him to start the Mounjaro because if he starts the Mounjaro first and then goes onto this new one, it will work a lot quicker,” she continued.
“The reason he hasn’t started Mounjaro at the minute is because they were trying to see if they could get him to lose weight through his diet, to try all avenues. He lost a bit, but realistically, no. With Harvey, of course, I could just go and buy Mounjaro and jab him but that is not the correct way to do things or the healthy way. He has his complex needs and medical needs and it would be wrong of me to do that. So I will do it properly.”
Katie emphasised that the Mounjaro is not because she wants Harvey to be “skinny”. She insists it’s “for his life, it’s an impact on his heart and things he can do in life”.
Harvey, Katie’s eldest son, also suffers from autism, septo-optic dysplasia and blindness.
