Fresh heartache for Christian Horner and Geri Halliwell following secret cancer death days before his Red Bull sacking

Christian and Beverley split when their daughter was six months old

There has been more sad news overnight for Christian Horner and his Spice Girl wife Geri Halliwell.

Following the news that Christian has been sacked from his role at Red Bull, it has been revealed that he has suffered a recent tragedy, too.

Christian Horner sacked by Red Bull

Since 2005, Christian, who married Geri a decade ago, has acted as team principal and CEO of Red Bull’s F1 team. During his time in charge, he led Red Bull to eight drivers’ championship and six constructors’ championship titles.

However, earlier this week, the 51 year old was sacked.

In a statement, Red Bull said: “Red Bull has released Christian Horner from his operational duties with effect from today.”

Christian posted a farewell message on Instagram, saying: “After an incredible journey of twenty years together, it is with a heavy heart that today I say goodbye to the Team I have absolutely loved.”

His sacking comes 18 months after he was accused of sexual harassment and coercive, controlling behaviour by a female employee. He was twice cleared of the claims.

Christian Horner’s fresh heartache

Now it’s been revealed that just days before Horner was sacked by Red Bull, his ex-partner, Beverley Allen, died.

Beverley, 58, and Christian were together between 1998 and 2013. Horner acted as a stepfather figure to Beverley’s two sons from a previous relationship, and, in 2013, they welcomed their daughter, Olivia. However, in the months following Olivia’s birth, Beverley and Christian split.

Christian will be very upset indeed by Beverley’s passing.

He then moved on with Geri Halliwell, who he married in 2015. They have a son together, Monty. Horner is also stepfather to Geri’s daughter, Bluebell.

Beverley was reportedly heartbroken by Christian moving on, initially. However, over the years, they reportedly patched up their relationship and continued to co-parent on friendly terms.

The MailOnline has reported that Beverley died following a battle with eye cancer, just 10 days before Christian’s Red Bull sacking.

She passed away in her Cotswolds home, two years after being diagnosed with the disease.

Beverley’s death

“Beverley was a lovely woman and it is so cruel what has happened to her. She found out she had eye cancer a couple of years ago and she was aware that it wasn’t going to be a very good prognosis but it is still a devastating shock. Beverley was loved by everyone who knew her. It’s just heartbreaking,” a source told the Mail.

Another source said: “Christian will be very upset indeed by Beverley’s passing – he has lost an old friend and his daughter has lost her mother.”

“It’s absolutely devastating news. She was a wonderful woman and we will all miss her. In recent months we’ve been seeing Christian visiting the house quite a lot and I think he was doing all the could to support her,” another added.

ED! has contacted Christian’s representatives for comment.
