Kelsey Parker has been hit with online backlash as a clip taken from her podcast admitting she doesn’t use suncream on her kids was shown on This Morning.
Over the last few weeks influencers and celebs online have been debating the seriousness of using suncream on their children. Most recently Sam Faiers and Kelsey Parker admitted they don’t use it on their children.
The topic was spoken about on This Morning today as hosts Joel Dommett and Emma Willis asked Dr Zoe for her opinions. And that’s when they played a clip from Kelsey’s podcast Mum’s The Word, which she co-hosts with Danny Jones’ wife Georgia. And Kelsey, who just recently lost her baby, Phoenix, has been hit with immense backlash.

What did Kelsey Parker say about suncream?
In the clip played on This Morning, Kelsey told a very shocked Georgia: “My kids do not wear suncream. Never ever would I put it on them. The only thing I would maybe – maybe – put on them is an organic suncream. Suncream is so bad.”
Georgia was clearly taken aback by her pals stance and reminded her: “So is skin cancer.”
That’s when Kelsey shared her belief that “suncream causes skin cancer” which Georgia rebutted. But Kelsey added: “Do you actually know they ingredients the suncream that you use on Cooper? There is really harmful chemicals that you’re putting on your skin.”
Georgia asked: “What if your kids came back with sunstroke though?”
But Kelsey explained “they wouldn’t” as “they don’t burn” because she has “adjusted them to the sun”.
After the clip played, This Morning fans took to X to share their shock at Kelsey’s comments.
One wrote: “Suncream causes skin cancer? What a stupid [bleep].”
Another commented: “At least we know what podcast to avoid” before adding: “What is she talking about?”
A third joked that Kelsey and Georgia should rename their podcast: “Maybe they should call the podcast Stupid’s the Word.”

Kelsey’s comments were discussed on This Morning
After the clip was shown, Joel and Emma discussed the suncream debate.
Dr Zoe prefaced the conversation: “First of all, I’m not going to start mum-shaming. Parenting is hard enough and we don’t need to get into that.
“But this goes to show there is a lot of information out there which is false and is damaging. Now suncream is safe to buy in the UK and it is safe to use.”
Dr Zoe confirmed that experts have done tests, and the current ingredients used in suncream is “safe” and do not pose harm to people.
However, Dr Zoe didn’t want to shrug off people’s fears and encouraged them to go for the “physical block” suncream if they are concerned.
As for using no suncream to get a tan, Dr Zoe said: “There is no such thing as a safe tan unless it’s out of a bottle. Tanning is your skin sending melanin into the surface because it has detected skin damage. It’s doing that to protect the skin from further damage.”

Sam Faiers responded to This Morning
Kelsey Parker wasn’t the only celeb example used on This Morning as TV personality Sam Faiers also recently said she doesn’t use suncream on her kids.
This Morning got in touch with her and her reps responded. Emma read: “Samantha would never encourage unsafe behaviour or advise others to avoid sunscreen. In a recent Instagram story she shared her personal experiences as a mum and encouraged others to explore the many sunscreen options available.”
