Emma Willis has been replaced on This Morning after she was struck by a mystery illness.
The beloved TV presenter was due to host the ITV show on Monday (December 15), alongside Dermot O Leary.
However, just minutes into the programme airing, Dermot revealed that Emma was unwell and would not be appearing. As a result, someone else had stepped in to fill her shoes.
Emma Willis replaced on This Morning
On Monday (December 15), This Morning was back on screens – with Dermot O’Leary at the helm. Instead of Emma though, Josie Gibson was there to co-host the programme.
“Look who is back with me, it’s only miss Josie Gibson. Lovely to have you,” Dermot proclaimed, to which Josie replied: “Thanks for having me!”
Dermot then shared that Emma had to pull out of hosting the show due to her being struck down by a last-minute illness.
‘Emma is feeling a little bit poorly’
He explained: “For disclosure, Emma was supposed to be with us this week, but Emma is feeling a little bit poorly.”
Dermot then blew a kiss at the camera and added: “Sending her big love,” as Josie chimed in: “Get well soon!”
Emma’s illness was not revealed on the show and ED! have contacted Emma’s representatives for comment.
Emma has hosted This Morning countless times over the years, making her debut a few years back and her stints have often left fans demanding bosses to make her a full-time presenter.
“Watching This Morning for the first time in 3 years. Only because it’s #Rylan and #Emma. Will be watching more if they’re presenting,” said one person said on X back in 2023.
Another added: “How refreshing to watch Emma &Rylan such a great team and chemistry.” A third chimed in: “I absolutely LOVE Rylan & Emma on This Morning. Need more of them.”
Emma’s new radio show
Meanwhile in other Emma news, this week it was announced that Emma landed a new show on Radio 2 starting from January 2026, replacing Zoe Ball’s show.
Emma said: “I’m a huge fan of Radio 2, so I’m absolutely chuffed to be joining the family – and it’s a real honour to follow in the huge footsteps Zoe leaves behind, who’s someone I admire and adore.
“I’m very much looking forward to spending my Saturday lunchtimes with the Radio 2 audience and I’ll happily be the filling to a Romesh and Rylan sandwich!”
