Strictly Come Dancing’s Lewis Cope has revealed a secret blunder that almost happened on the show that fans had no idea about.
The actor is one of many famous faces taking part in this year’s series of the glitzy BBC One show. Partnered with Katya Jones, the pair have quickly become firm favourites. Last weekend, Lewis and Katya danced a foxtrot and the routine went down a storm with the judges and viewers watching at home.
But according to Lewis, things could have gone disastrously wrong on Strictly Come Dancing…

Lewis Cope and Katya on Strictly last weekend
On Saturday, Lewis and Katya wowed Strictly fans when they performed a foxtrot to L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole. During the routine, the pair danced around a ladder that was positioned on the stage, before making their way onto the dance floor.
The judges were quick to applaud Lewis’ dance when sharing their thoughts, with Anton Du Beke describing it as “super duper”. Lewis and Katya ended up bagging a total score of 34 out of 40.
But it seems the dance could have ended up completely different as Lewis recently revealed a near-show blunder…

Lewis’ concerns over ‘blunder’
On Thursday (October 23) Lewis and Katya appeared on It Takes Two and chatted about their dance over the weekend.
Host Janette Manrara mentioned a comment that was caught on Lewis’ mic that he made while making their way up to speak to Claudia Winkleman.
A clip then showed Lewis and Katya running up stairs after their dance, with Lewis telling Katya: “I nearly pulled the ladder over!”
Back on It Takes Two, Janette quizzed him: “So what happened?!”
Lewis explained: “At the beginning of the routine obviously I help you [Katya] come down and I kind of softly go to the ladder.
“But this time, I kind of pulled a bit too much this time and it came this way,” he said with his hands just inches away from his face.
A concerned Lewis continued: “I thought ‘oh please no!’ But it was alright in the end!”
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday (October 25) at 6:20pm on BBC One.
