Craig Revel Horwood didn’t mince his words as he shared his thoughts on Strictly Come Dancing star Alex Kingston last night.
Show judge Craig returned to screens on Monday (October 27) for the spin-off show It Takes Two. Chatting to host Fleur East, Craig gave a rundown on his thoughts about the remaining Strictly contestants, including Alex, Vicky Pattison and Ellie Goldstein.
And in typical Craig fashion, he didn’t hold back about one of the celebs…
Craig Revel Horwood takes swipe at Strictly 2025 star
Appearing on It Takes Two this week, Craig shared his critiques about the 2025 Strictly stars who are left in the competition.
Alex Kingston and pro partner Johannes Radebe performed a Foxtrot last weekend, which ended up being the pair’s highest-scoring dance so far with 32 points. And, earlier this month, Alex made history when she bagged the earliest 10 for a Rumba from Shirley Ballas.
But it seems Craig disagrees with the show’s head judge…
On It Takes Two, he declared: “Overmarked!” referring to Shirley’s score. Host Fleur was left stunned and replied: “What?!” Craig then quipped: “Just saying!”
Craig called Alex’s dance ‘overmarked’
He explained: “I want to see a little bit more pizzazz and splash! I just find it gets a little bit samey and a bit, dare I say, D-U-L-L dull darling!
“I think it would be really nice for her to take bigger risks. She’s got great technique and is a fantastic actress. I think she’s wonderful, she shows real commitment and promise to this show and you can see how hard she works on technique as well.
“Shirley was right about her technique as well. It was really good, but I wanted to see a little bit more reach in her rumba. A little bit more passion,” he said.
Meanwhile talking about 2025 star Vicky Pattison, Craig admitted he “had no real hope for her” when she started. He explained: “I just thought, this is going to be a disaster. Actually it wasn’t.
“She is learning more and more and with her confidence growing like this she now needs to learn to love every single genre as much as she loves that genre.
“This Icons Week was terrific for her, you’ve got a story, you’ve got someone you were behind and you’ve got music you love dancing to. You just need to learn to love whatever it is next week,” Craig added.
