Celebs Go Dating will be back on our screens very soon. But filming for the hit Channel 4 show had to be halted after Mark Labbett had a dramatic health scare.
The dating agency is about to open its doors again for the first time this year. But it has already been hit with its fair share of drama before it’s even aired on TV.
It didn’t take long before some stars backed out of doing the show – Christine McGuinness and Chris Hughes reportedly quit. While Christine is in the line-up, she isn’t expected to be in the whole show. However, now it seems like production was also hit with a health scare.

Mark Labbett suffers health scare filming Celeb’s Go Dating
The Chase star Mark was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes back in 2017, and it seems it caused some issues on set.
Mark signed up for the show earlier this year following his most recent shock break-up. He previously explained they broke up because of his age.
While filming for the show, Mark suffered from a hypoglycaemic attack. This is when your blood sugar drops to a low level.
According to the NHS website, having low blood sugar “needs to be treated quickly” in order to prevent worse consequences.
Speaking about having to halt filing, Mark told The Sun he was ‘grumpy’ to everyone around him when it happened.
He said: “The hardest part of the process was the long filming and unfortunately for me I am diabetic and I wear a glucose monitor. My glucose levels went off the scale and I had a full hypoglycaemia episode. I might have got a little bit grumpy. I apologise to everyone. ”
Mark admitted the situation made him realise if he ever does another reality TV show then he will build “siesta breaks” into his contracts, so he can have a nap.

What has Mark said about his diabetes?
This isn’t the first time Mark has opened up about his diabetes. And in recent years he has shed ten stone to try and make positive changes to his health.
However, he previously admitted he has a ‘habit’ of treating himself, which tends to get in his way.
He previously revealed: “I almost got un-diabetec. I must confess, I have a habit to cheat and reward myself, it’s a sin.
“I don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs, don’t gamble and don’t have any loose women in my life. Everyone has a sin and mine happens to be sugar. But I didn’t realise how bad.”
