Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk will find out next week that their new baby is healthy in a surprising development as they visit the hospital for their first scan.

The couple were left heartbroken last year when they discovered their baby Gracie would only survive for a short time after birth.
They said goodbye to her in devastating scenes that raised awareness of the condition she suffered from – bilateral renal agenesis.
But after all the tragedy, happiness is around the corner for the pair as they are told their baby is healthy.

Chas panicked when she saw the doctor who had diagnosed Gracie’s issues previously doing the scan instead of a sonographer.
But she was worrying for nothing as the doctor put her straight.
“There’s no need for alarm,” she told her.
“After what happened with Grace we just wanted to keep a closer eye on things this time around.
“Let’s see what we have in here then.
“It most certainly is a baby with a strong healthy heartbeat.”
Viewers were overjoyed at news Chas was pregnant recently and hoped it means she and Paddy will finally have the baby they have long wanted.
