Coronation Street follow-up: As Debbie’s health takes a bad turn, upcoming spoilers confirm her fate

Debbie's in a bad way

Coronation Street tonight (Tuesday, March 3) saw Debbie Webster facing a frightening health scare behind bars, with no one rushing to her aid when she needed it most.

Left alone in her prison cell after taking a worrying turn, Debbie’s desperate calls for help went unanswered. And now, fresh spoilers have confirmed that while she pulls through physically, her friendship with Lou Michaelis is about to be pushed to breaking point in the ultimate act of betrayal.

Debbie Webster’s bad turn in prison

The drama began when Debbie clocked her new prison pal Lou sporting a nasty bruise. Lou brushed it off, claiming Paula was responsible but insisting it was nothing to worry about. When her children came to visit, she planned to tell them she’d simply walked into a cupboard.

Concerned, Debbie attempted to alert a prison guard that Lou had been assaulted. But she quickly backtracked, instead admitting she’d felt a little dizzy earlier. The guard was unimpressed, warning Debbie not to waste her time every time she experienced a ‘funny turn.’

Later, in the visiting room, Debbie was reunited with her son Carl, who wasted little time asking his mum for more money. Guilt-ridden over years of lies, Debbie agreed to set up a monthly direct debit to help him out.

Across the room, Sally was visiting Lou and soon confronted Debbie about the bruising. She also cautioned her against handing over her cash to Carl, urging her to think twice.

Back in her cell after visiting hours, Debbie’s health took another alarming dip. Appearing to suffer a further TIA, she called out for help – but once again, no one came. Struggling to steady herself, she barely made it to the edge of her bed before collapsing onto the floor.

Coronation Street spoilers confirm Debbie’s fate as Lou betrays her

Spoilers for the rest of the week reveal that Debbie does recover from the health scare – but emotionally, things are only just kicking off.

Marching back into her cell, Debbie fumes that if this is how she’s spending what could be her final precious months of freedom, then someone owes her a refund. Prison is grim enough without the added fear that her time may be running out.

In what she believes is a kind gesture, Lou Michaelis decides to step in. Taking matters into her own hands, she phones Sally Metcalfe and pours her heart out about Debbie’s fragile state of mind. Sally, in turn, quickly passes the message on to Ronnie Bailey.

But when Debbie finds out Lou has been sharing her private meltdown, she’s furious. From her perspective, that’s not loyalty – that’s grassing. Lou insists she was only trying to help, but Debbie isn’t convinced.

Trust is thin on the ground inside those prison walls. Can this unlikely friendship can survive a well-intentioned overshare, or has Lou has crossed a line Debbie won’t forgive?
