Of all the soap fans, Emmerdale’s are normally the most loyal, but many of them were really not feeling the love for tonight’s episode.
It was a busy one – balanced between high drama with Emma and Gabby, and comedy with Paddy being ridiculed on his latest dating disaster.
But neither plot proved to be crowd pleasers.

Gabby tried to spook Emma by sneaking into church and speaking to her via a walkie talkie, pretending to be God – yes, you read that right – leaving the unhinged killer to think she is in communication with the highest order.
Meanwhile, Paddy had a bizarre date with Lindsey, which resulted in him being blindfolded and tied to a rabbit cage with a dog collar. (Yes, you read that right, too!)
Viewers hit up Twitter and variously described tonight’s outing as “terrible”, “far-fetched”, “boring” and “rubbish”.
