Writer, presenter, Church of England priest and star of the I’m A Celebrity jungle – Reverend Richard Coles has done it all.
He’s on Katie Piper’s Weekend Escape on Sunday (June 15). Catch it on ITV1 at 8:25am.
Coles revealed earlier this year that he had resorted to taking a weight-loss jab after his neighbours made comments about his weight.
Now, the cleric and broadcaster has lifted the lid on what his experience on the jab has been like.

Rev Richard Coles wants to be ‘less fat’
A few months on from narrowly missing out on the I’m A Celebrity crown, Richard Coles is no longer battling his appetite in his body, even if the appetite in his head is still going strong.
He rises early – like, 5am early. He starts with a morning prayer, and then boils himself an egg, according to a recent interview published by the Telegraph.
His breakfast of choice may be more austere, even ascetic, compared to before. If so, that’s because he’s been taking a weight loss jab.
Since when? Since his neighbours started bullying him about his weight, per the Mail.
“I was bullied by my neighbours, who are both on weight-loss drugs. They’ve lost tons of weight. I was feeling a bit sad about being old and fat. I can’t exercise as much as I used to. The dogs are dead, so I haven’t got them to walk. So in the end the neighbours persuaded me. I found out they get 15% off for signing me up. It’s a sort of pyramid drug scheme!” he said,
Speaking last month, Richard then added: “I’ve been on Mounjaro for six weeks now. A jab in your leg or belly once a week. It was a bit weird at first, until my stomach adjusted. I can eat food if it’s in front of me, but I don’t think about it all the time. That’s quite a change for me.”

He doesn’t know how much weight he has lost
Richard has decided not to look at the scales. He doesn’t want to know how much weight he’s lost, he said. He can still drink, but admits that the weight-loss jab takes the edge off his thirst, as well as greatly diminishing his hunger.
“I’m not looking [at how much he’s lost]. I don’t want to fret about it. I can feel it. The evidence is in your trousers. I just want to be less fat. The appetite in my head remains but the appetite in my body has greatly diminished. I was in New York the other week and normally I would be gorging on strip steaks and burgers but I ate like a bird, much to the amusement of my friends.”
Katie Piper’s Weekend Escape airs on Sunday at 8:25am on ITV1.
