Stacey Solomon addresses marriage ‘issues’ following Joe Swash ‘guilty’ admission: ‘I’d sort of given up’

The TV star says he'd 'sort of given up on ever having a family'

Earlier this week, Stacey Solomon addressed rumours that her marriage to Joe Swash is on the rocks after she was seen without her wedding ring.

On Wednesday (March 18), Stacey appeared on the ITV daytime show to promote her upcoming appearance on Britain’s Got Talent this Saturday (March 21). However, hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were not shy in asking whether there was any truth to the chaos in her marriage.

Her appearance came after she sent the rumour mill into overdrive after being pictured without her wedding ring, and followed on from Joe’s 2022 comments that he’s so happy in his marriage he feels “guilty”.

Stacey Solomon sets record straight on Joe Swash relationship problems

While sitting on the This Morning couch, Ben said: “Crazy rumours are going around about the two of you at the moment, Stace.” Unaware of the headlines, Stacey was puzzled and asked: “What are they?” as she admitted to not reading anything. “There is a new rumour each week!” she insisted.

Ben said she had been accused of not wearing her ring and that there “might be some issues going on”. In response, Stacey said: “Have I not been wearing my ring? I probably took it off to go to the toilet or something!” as Ben and Cat burst into laughter.

Discussing Joe’s lake at their Pickle Cottage, Ben noted that his plan for the lake had come to fruition. “It’s filling up! Maybe I dropped my ring in the lake!” Stacey continued to joke.

Joe Swash on family ‘guilt’

The couple aren’t immune to an on-screen spat, as their Stacey & Joe reality show proved.

However, months after they tied the knot at their stunning Pickle Cottage home, Joe opened up about feeling “guilty” over his happy family life with Stacey and their kids.

During an interview with Fabulous, Joe spoke about having had “a lot” of trauma in his life. When Joe was 11, his dad died from the undiagnosed heart condition Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome. Joe previously said he had to call an ambulance for his dad when he suffered a heart attack.

And in 2020, Joe’s nan passed away which left the actor heartbroken.

“I actually feel guilty about how happy I am with life, my family and Stacey,” Joe revealed. “There have been years when I had a lot of grief and went through a long depression, and I’d sort of given up on ever having a family and all this love.”

Stacey is ‘angel’

Joe also said he believes his wife Stacey was “an angel” sent to him by his dad to “bring me out of real darkness in my life”.

“If I hadn’t met her, everything would have been very different. I don’t know what would have happened to me,” Joe said.
