TV presenter Holly Willoughby faced fierce backlash earlier today (September 22) after undergoing a free full-body MRI scan.
The TV star shared the news with a post on Instagram, which featured her beaming in fancy pyjamas, sitting next to an MRI machine.
She explained the scan would be “checking for early signs of cancer and 500+ other conditions”. The TV star added that it would offer “peace of mind” for her and her young family.
However, peace was the last thing she got when she hit publish on the post…

Holly Willoughby ‘gifted’ cancer scan
The TV presenter posted: “Recently, Ezra Scans kindly invited me for a multi-organ MRI scan, checking for early signs of cancer and 500+ other conditions.
“As we all know, early detection saves lives, and it’s incredible this is now available in London. Having that peace of mind for me and my family is so worth it. As a company, their hope is the more who do this, the more available it is for everyone.”
Notably, she followed up this post with the #gifted hashtag, indicating that she hadn’t paid for the service.
How much are the scans?
On the Ezra Scans website, full-body scans start at £1,495, and go up to £5,495 for a spinal and neurological scan.
In the comments section, fans reacted with fury, pointing out that this kind of health check-up isn’t financially viable for the average person, and implying that, by posting this, Holly was being privileged.
Posting online, one commenter said: “One more person that can’t get a scan when they fear they have something really wrong with them, because HollyBob is in need of a bit of attention! Sickening.”
A second said: “While the rest of us couldn’t afford it even if we wanted it and get laughed out of the door by your GP if you dare ask for one!”
“Wow….. while the rest of us beg hey,” said a third. “Shame the average person can’t afford regular MRIs for peace of mind,” another added.
Soon after she posted the image, Holly turned off the comments for the post. However, at the time of writing, she’s made no acknowledgement of this backlash.

Holly Willoughby plots comeback
In the wake of her stalking ordeal and Phillip Schofield’s explosive affair reveal, Holly quit her role as presenter of This Morning. Since then, she’s hosted flagship shows such as Celebrity Bear Hunt and Dancing On Ice. But, after both of these reality shows were axed, Holly is now largely absent from our screens.
However, along with her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin, the star is said to be plotting a comeback.
Speaking to The Sun, an insider alleged: “[Holly] and Dan both know she has what it takes to go solo in a primetime evening slot. And they plan to make her the biggest female presenter in the UK again. Together, they are a force to be reckoned with.”
“Plans are in early stages. But they are quietly sounding out friends from the TV, film and music industry to get them on board for a potential new primetime show fronted by Holly.”
