Strictly Come Dancing star Hamza Yassin‘s film and photography company has been dissolved, after falling into debt.

The 35-year-old star topped the Strictly leaderboard numerous times and won the hearts of the nation during series 20 back in 2022.

Partnered up with Jowita Przystał, Hamza was eventually crowned winner of the show and took home the prestigious Glitterball trophy. But two years after his Strictly win, Hamza was dealt a blow as his company – Hamza Yassin Film & Photography Ltd – was dissolved.

Hamza Yassin ‘owed over £50k’ after Strictly win

The TV star’s business, Hamza Yassin Film and Photography, reportedly owed £55k, The Sun reported in early 2023.

The company slipped further into the red after its year-on-year loss for 2022 increased by £16,787.

Previous losses for the company, based in Camden, London, were reported at £27,707 in 2020 and £38,819 in 2021.

The publication also claims the company’s accounts run to just three pages and are unaudited.

They also don’t report turnover or salary payments – but one member of staff is reported as being employed.

Beneath the balance sheet page showing its results, a small print references “loans to directors” and “guarantees made by the company on behalf of the directors.”

An update on Companies House showed that the company was sadly dissolved on December 24, 2024, via a “compulsory strike off”.

What does Hamza do now?

After winning Strictly, Hamza has stepped out from behind the camera. He hosts Countryfile – on tonight (August 31). He’s also a roving reporter on The One Show. He’s a successful author and he is also planning a 2026 tour – My Life Behind the Lens.
