Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse previously revealed that her weight wasn’t healthy at the peak of her dancing career.
Motsi has served as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing since 2019. Fans love her warmth, honesty and passion that comes from spending years as a professional dancer.
However, along with the highs, professional dancing comes with its lows. And, as a result, Motsi has been open about her prior struggles with body image in the past.

Strictly star Motsi Mabuse on problems with her weight
The star – on Deal or No Deal this weekend (December 15) – knows all too well what the dancers go through as a former professional dancer herself, who previously performed on the German TV show Let’s Dance.
Part of being a professional dancer has been a constant pressure to remain slim, causing a constant body image battle for the star.

In September 2022, Motsi featured as the cover model for Prima Magazine. In the accompanying interview, she revealed: “As a professional dancer, my weight was a constant struggle, too. There’s so much focus not just on winning, but what you weigh.
A healthy mind, body and soul is more important to being thin.
“A teacher once told me to lose weight when I was only 50kg! Naturally, my body has changed since then, and my weight goes up and down.”
‘I’m more compassionate towards myself’
Motsi said that she now finds herself in a healthier relationship with her body.
However, sadly she added: “I’ll never get to the stage where I think I look great, but I’m now much more compassionate towards myself. A healthy mind, body and soul is more important to being thin.”
Watch Motsi on Deal or No Deal Sunday December 15 at 7pm on ITV1.
