Stefan Dennis has announced he has had to quit Strictly Come Dancing after an injury.
The Aussie star – best known for being on Neighbours – was partnered with Dianne Buswell on this year’s series and the pair became firm favourites with viewers.
However, on Monday (October 20) it was announced that Stefan had quit the BBC show – and fans are devastated.
Stefan Dennis quits Strictly 2025
On the Strictly Come Dancing Instagram page, the show confirmed Stefan Dennis‘ exit from the show. They issued a statement that read: “This morning I woke up to the most disappointing day of the time in my Strictly journey.
“Just when I had finally gained the confidence to do well with my dancing in the comp and achieve more great dances along the way, I was told that on Saturday I had torn my calf so significantly that I am now forced to withdraw from the show.”
He went on: “I can’t tell you how devastated I am to have to leave so prematurely especially, as there has been, and still is, so much love and support from everyone for both Dianne and myself.
“I owe both the Strictly Family and Dianne a massive debt of gratitude for giving me the opportunity to fulfil my dream of being able to dance with my wife. (When my leg is better) Fun fact for all the avid Neighbours fans… it’s the same leg!”
Strictly ‘gutted’
Meanwhile Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios said: “We’ve adored having Stefan on Strictly Come Dancing. And are heartbroken that his Strictly journey – and his fantastic partnership with Dianne Buswell – has been cut short.
She also added: “It’s been a joy to see him embrace the series with such enthusiasm. And we really hope that, once better, he will keep dancing.”
As expected, Strictly Come Dancing fans were left gutted about Stefan leaving the show. One person said: “Devastated. Sorry it had to end so soon but i’m wishing both Stefan and Dianne all the best and sending love!”
Another added: “Gutted, hope he recovers quickly.” A third chimed in: “Ah that’s so sad, we were so happy to see you back this week. Sending lots of love.”
Strictly continues on Saturday, October 25 at 6.20pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
