Strictly star Amber Davies on ‘awful’ dance-off experience

Appearing on It Takes Two tonight (Tuesday, October 28), Amber opened up about the dance-off on Sunday, branding it the “worst” experience.

Amber and Nikita Kuzmin found themselves in the dance-off despite being joint second in the leaderboard for their cha-cha-cha to Ariana Grande’s Break Free.

Though Amber was upset in the dance-off, she revealed that she was more upset for Jimmy than herself.

Explaining her tears to Fleur East, she said: “It’s the humanity side of it. Because Jimmy loved Strictly. And I just felt awful that it was us that had to be a part of them being knocked out.

“I wasn’t sad because we were in the dance-off. I was sad because I love him so much, and I love Lauren Oakley. I think them as a team were amazing.”

Amber addressed the dance-off

“It’s the worst feeling in the world,” she then went on to say.

When asked about the public response to her being in the dance-off, Amber said: “Funnily enough, I have felt the most loved from this weekend. I feel like, from the start, you know, a lot of ‘Oh, she’s a dancer’ has come up on social media.

“I was terrified to open the social media apps. And everybody has been so kind, so lovely, and I feel so loved!”

Strictly star Amber talks this weekend’s competition

Opening up about this coming weekend’s performance, Amber admitted she’d had a “new lease of life this week”.

“Very positive today, wasn’t I?” she asked Nikita. “Really positive!” he agreed.

“There were no negative words of affirmation coming out of my mouth,” Amber continued. “Cos I’ve had a second chance! And so I want to enjoy it as much as I possibly can. And I’m absolutely loving the Viennese Waltz.”

Amber and Nikita will be doing the waltz to I See Red by Everybody Loves an Outlaw, hoping to avoid being in the dreaded dance-off for a second week running!
