Lorraine star Claer Barrett makes sad confession after dropping from size 20 to a 14 on weight-loss jabs

'I know how hard you’ve worked as well'

Lorraine’s financial expert Claer Barrett was on the show today for a makeover, after losing four stone on weight-loss jab Mounjaro.

Claer, who dropped from a size 20 to a size 14, was treated to the shopping spree by fashion expert Mark Heyes.

But, while trying on her new wardrobe, Claer made a heartbreaking confession that anyone who’s lost weight will likely relate to…

Lorraine star drops four dress sizes

Appearing on today’s show (December 10), Claer and Mark went shopping, before she joined Lorraine Kelly in the studio to talk through her weight loss. Given her financial background, she also shared details of how to sell your old clothes online once they no longer fit.

Claer previously told how she was diagnosed as “obese” by her GP before starting her weight-loss mission last November.

Today, Claer told Mark she’s now shed four stone and dropped four dress sizes.

Asked how she feels after embarking on her weight-loss journey, she said: “Healthier, which is the main reason I did this. But I’ll admit also poorer, as none of my clothes fit me any more.”

She then added that, while she’s dropped the pounds, in her head she still sees an obese woman. “In my head I’m still a size 20. Whereas, in actual fact, as a size 14, I can go into any High Street store now.”

‘I was very worried’

Speaking earlier this year, Claer opened up to the show’s Dr Hilary Jones about her decision to lose weight. She shared: “I was obese. I had a body mass index of 37, which was far too high. Anything 30 or over you’re in the danger zone for diabetes. I wasn’t pre-diabetic, but that was something I was very worried about.”

She added: “I had a rogue high blood pressure reading when I was under a lot of stress at work, and it just made me think. I write about longevity, about retirement, about healthy life expectancy.

“I took a calculated risk, you might say, I knew there were side effects to these drugs. I’d various chats with Dr Hilary, but I also made a beeline to my own GP.”

‘Look at the results!’

Claer also revealed she “totally overhauled” her diet and exercise habits while taking the drug – something Lorraine Kelly hailed today.

“You have to actually change your lifestyle, you have to exercise more and eat properly and that’s what you did,” said Lorraine. “And look at the results!”

She continued: “You look amazing but I know how hard you’ve worked as well, not only to lose weight but to keep it off.”

Claer smiled and told her: “That’s the next challenge!”

You can do it, Claer!
