Fans’ concern for Michael Buble during X Factor appearance

Viewers thought something was off with his performance

Canadian crooner Michael Buble had fans concerned for his wellbeing following an ‘awkward’ appearance on The X Factor last night.

The Crazy Love singer denied he is retiring from performing in the near future, just weeks after he revealed he would be taking a step away from music.

He told show host Dermot O’Leary: “I’m not going anywhere!”

And although the 43-year-old made it clear he would not be hanging up his microphone, many of his supporters on social media felt something wasn’t quite right with his rendition of Nat King Cole’s When I Fall In Love.

“Michael Buble looks as though he’s gonna cry,” reckoned @WendyShannon20.

“Most awkward I’ve ever seen him perform!”

“Love the Buble. Was there something wrong with his sound? Didn’t look comfortable!” tweeted another.

And another fan – who wondered whether the star may have been out of time – commented: “All looked a bit awks.”

Others worried Michael may not have been feeling his best.

“Is Michael ok? He looks really nervous,” wondered @Liv_Liv_Liv__.

Another fan agreed: “Michael doesn’t sound or look the same tonight.”

“It’s as if he’s on another planet!” concluded @voxxeh.

Despite his X Factor assurances he won’t be giving up singing, Michael recently suggested he had no time for the trappings of fame.

Michael only made his return to music in the summer following a two-year break to support his stricken family.

Son Noah, then aged just 3, had been diagnosed with liver cancer and Michael dedicated himself to his boy and wife Luisana Lopilato.

But in October he told the Daily Mail he intended to quit showbiz.

“I don’t have the stomach for it any more. The celebrity narcissism,” he explained.

“This is my last interview. I’m retiring.”
