EastEnders viewers appalled by what the café is selling

It’s just not on, they reckon!

As Mick Carter sat down for a serious chinwag with Shirley in Kathy’s cafe, EastEnders viewers were supposed to be glued to his every word.

After all, the pub landlord – played by Danny Dyer – is involved in a tense storyline at the moment, having walked out on Linda over her cancer secret in the previous night’s episode.

But it seems most people were oblivious to what he was saying to his mum, as they were too distracted by a sign in the background.

And they were so shocked by what it said, they took to Twitter to have a good old moan about it.

The offending item was a blackboard advertising a ‘special offer’ of a bacon or sausage sandwich and a cup of coffee for £6.

Admittedly, that does sound pretty steep for a greasy-spoon cafe – even if it is in London!

And fans on Twitter couldn’t believe how much Kathy’s was charging.

One said: “Did anyone notice in tonight’s EastEnders the notice for bacon/sausage sandwich + coffee. £6. Wow, expensive!!!”

Another fumed: £6.00 for a bacon or sausage sarnie at Kathy’s? Daylight robbery!”

And a third viewer mocked: “£6! Bacon or sausage sandwich and a coffee at Kathy’s! Having a laugh, ain’t they?”

It’s the second time in a week that Mick has found himself at the centre of a social-media storm.

Viewers were outraged after he stormed out on Linda (Kellie Bright) after a big row over the secrecy surrounding her illness.

Earlier in that episode, Mick had insisted on taking Linda to the hospital, where she was given the all-clear.

But his joy turned to despair when the couple returned to Albert Square and Mick discovered that Woody had known about the illness long before him.

After a heated exchange between the couple, a furious Mick decided to leave his wife. But it didn’t go down well with fans.

One viewer raged: “And the worst husband of the year award goes to… Mick.”

Another scolded: “The way Mick is reacting is actually p***ing me off!!”

Well, if those viewers are angry, just imagine how Mick felt when he found out the price of his butty!
