Jenny Connor has made the decision to exit the cobbles and has set off for a new life in Tenerife, away from Coronation Street.
In today’s ITV early release (Wednesday, October 1), Jenny realised that she needed to start afresh and do the one thing she loved.
With Rita giving her some words of encouragement, Jenny then decided to look for a bar managing position abroad.
Jenny’s decision
Jenny Connor still had her eye on George today as he popped by with a homemade soup for poorly Rita.
About to tell George the truth, Jenny spotted Christina in the corner of her eye and continued to lie about Rita’s health in a bid to share a cosy moment with her crush.
However, it was Rita that put her foot in it by telling George that her pain was at about a 3, with 10 being ‘terminal.’
Realising that Rita was doing fine, George confronted Jenny over her lies. Jenny then admitted that she’d been enjoying the attention, feeling as though she’d lost her purpose after losing the pub.
When Jenny mentioned that she has a friend who lives in Tenerife, George had a word with Rita about encouraging Jenny to move over there and work behind a bar, doing what she loves.

Realising that Jenny needed to get back out there and make something of her life again, Rita Tanner handed Jenny an envelope with enough money for a one-way flight.
Jenny told Rita that she couldn’t leave her, but Rita reassured her that she had lots of friends in Weatherfield and would be alright.
Outside of the Rovers, Rita and Jenny shared an emotional moment with each other. When Rita started becoming teary-eyed, she promised Jenny she’d be okay without her and would visit her in Tenerife when she could.
Jenny then grabbed her suitcase and head off away from the cobbles, but not before binning her Rovers landlady sign that she’d held on to for all this time.

Coronation Street usually airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
