The latest Coronation Street episode on ITVX has revealed that a huge character suffers a worrying accident.
Tyrone was recently released from hospital following a hit and run, which left him unable to feel his legs.
Tyrone’s wife Fiz has been sharing caring duties with his mum Cassie, but in Monday’s episode he was left alone with worrying consequences.
Tyrone hospitalised following hit and run
Last month, Tyrone Dobbs was revealed as the victim of a shock hit and run incident.
It was initially thought that Dylan and Brody were to blame, but shockingly, it was soon revealed that Carl was responsible.
In hospital, it was revealed that Tyrone suffered two fractured vertebrae and had a blood clot pressing against his spine. When he woke up, he shared with Fiz that he couldn’t feel his legs.
The soap shared that Tyrone would have a long road to recovery and they’d be working with Spinal Injuries Association on this hard-hitting storyline.
That recovery has since moved from the hospital to the cobbles, with Tyrone using a wheelchair.
Tyrone has accident in Coronation Street
In Monday’s episode of Coronation Street (October 13), Cassie helped Tyrone with some physio exercises while Fiz was at work. But when Cassie received a message from Steve about having a free house, she said she had to nip out for a bit.
Tyrone said he could do with some fresh air, but she told him she was going out on her own – leaving Tyrone alone.
Fiz had the afternoon off work, but after a pep talk from Tracy she decided to have some time to herself. Believing that Cassie was taking care of Tyrone, Fiz headed into town.
Cassie was longer than expected and returned to find Tyrone lying on the floor after falling out of his chair. She went to call an ambulance, but Tyrone stopped her, telling her he didn’t want to go back to hospital.
As a compromise, Cassie took him to the medical centre instead. Bumping into Fiz, Cassie told her that Tyrone was being checked over by a doctor. She explained that he stretched too far when trying to empty his catheter.
It was revealed that Tyrone had strained his wrist. Fiz was devastated as it meant Tyrone wouldn’t be able to wheel himself round as much. And as a result would be relying on them even more. They then bickered about Tyrone’s care, with Fiz chucking Cassie out of the house.
Could this push Tyrone’s recovery back even more? And how will the family cope?
