Emmerdale: 5 major problems with Meena’s comeback

Meena came back for revenge

Emmerdale serial killer Meena Jutla has been back in the village causing havoc once again.

However there were a few issues with her return.

Here are five major problems with Meena’s comeback as spotted by Entertainment Daily‘s soap writer Charlotte Rodrigues.

1. Meena ran around Emmerdale unnoticed for days

Before Meena made her presence in the village known, she broke into Dawn’s house and vandalised her wedding dress.

She also broke into the church before Billy and Dawn’s wedding, walking around and singing loudly.

Before kidnapping the bride and groom she managed to break back into Dawn’s house, knock Harriet unconscious and hide Dawn’s son Lucas, all in broad daylight without anyone seeing.

It seems odd no one would notice a wanted serial killer walking around.

2. Emmerdale: Meena is back on her feet within a day of taking a nasty fall

Back in July, Meena pushed Leanna off the humpback bridge. The teenager hit her head on a rock.

Meena left her there to die and the next day her body was found by Bernice Blackstock.

Earlier this week, Meena was pushed off the same bridge by Leanna’s father Liam after Meena bragged to him about murdering his daughter.

Although it looked like Meena was dead, she was revived.

She was put in ICU with a few injuries, however in tonight’s episode (Friday, February 18), Meena was in police custody and seemed completely fine not even a full day after a deadly fall.

3. Billy not being able to take down Meena

Last week viewers saw Billy beat up Dawn’s ex-boyfriend Alex, thinking he had been terrorising Dawn.

However Meena managed to overpower Billy and put him in the boot of a limo.

Later at the viaduct Meena held both Dawn and Billy captive, trying to force Billy to choose to save himself or Dawn, holding them at gunpoint.

While it’s understandable Billy or Dawn wouldn’t want to attack her as she had a gun, there was an opportunity to stop her when Billy managed to get the weapon off her.

Once Billy had the gun, he and Dawn didn’t try and tie her up and keep her there until police arrived. They went along with Meena’s order for Dawn to tie up Billy instead and then let Meena drive off in the limo.

Surely she could’ve tried to knock her out or something?

Then Billy didn’t even look for a phone in Leyla’s car to try and get help for her.

4. The police work

The police work throughout this entire storyline has been questionable.

The fact they ruled both Leanna and Andrea’s murders an accident was completely laughable.

Surely both of them would’ve had Meena’s DNA on their bodies?

This week the police work was no better. The police were more interested in questioning Liam for pushing Meena off the bridge instead of questioning Meena, who had been accused of killing multiple people by her sister, Manpreet.

5. Meena completely forgetting Victoria and David

Meena also appears to have completely forgotten about Victoria and David.

The majority of Meena’s storyline was focused on pitting her against Victoria for the prize of David.

As viewers know David ended up breaking up with Meena to be with Victoria. Meena even attempted to drown Victoria, but now this part of the storyline appears to have been forgotten.

It feels like there should be a lot more to this part of the plot. Where was the showdown? Are we seriously being deprived of Victoria versus Meena? Come on, Emmerdale!
