Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor ‘owes £12m to royal family’ after lawsuit ‘loan’

More damning information has come to light

| Updated:

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s alleged financial support from the royal family has come to light.

The disgraced former prince was apparently loaned £12million by his parents and brother King Charles.

Thus far, they are reportedly yet to see a penny returned.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s huge loan from the royal family

The late Queen Elizabeth II allegedly paid up a whopping £7million for Andrew’s 2022 out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who had accused Andrew of sexual assault.

Prince Philip’s estate was also said to have given £3million.

Other royals also reportedly chipped in to pay the sum to Ms Giuffre, with our now monarch, King Charles, then prince, allegedly contributing £1.5million.

A source has since claimed, as per The Sun: “Andrew’s not paid back a penny.”

The former prince was said to have attempted to pay back the sum by selling a Swiss ski chalet, but this idea failed as he made next to nothing from the sale.

Sources suggested at the time that Andrew hoped to use the funds from the £19million property to pay back his royal relatives.

However, due to his mortgage debts, Andrew was reportedly unable to hand back the millions to the royals.

Royal family ‘payment’

A source alleged: “As far as anyone knows he still has not repaid a single penny of the millions he borrowed. The money from the Royal Family bought her silence but denied Virginia her day in court and the chance to openly challenge his account of what happened.”

A source went on to claim: “Andrew lied to his own family about the extent of his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. They bankrolled his pay-off to his accuser Virginia Giuffre. They bought his lies and helped him try and make the problem go away. His own mother, the late Queen, was left heartbroken by the scandal. But she could not face banishing Andrew, who was still her beloved son. She knew this was a problem that his brother Charles would tackle once she was gone — it only pushed the scandal down the road.”

Ms Giuffre alleged she was made to have sex with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on three occasions after being trafficked by Epstein.

Ms Giuffre said she was 17-years-old at the time. Andrew has always vehemently denied these claims.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor named in the Epstein Files

In recent weeks, Andrew has faced more damning allegations. Unsurprisingly, surrounding his links to late convicted sex offender Epstein.

On January 30, the US Department of Justice released more than three million files relating to Epstein and his crimes.

Within these files, images appeared to show Andrew kneeling on all fours over an unidentified female lying on the ground. No context has been supplied for the images. It’s also unclear when and where they were taken.

Andrew has continued to deny any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. Being named or pictured among the Epstein files is not an indication of wrongdoing.

Sarah Ferguson named in the Epstein files

Elsewhere, Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson was also named in the latest tranche of Epstein files.

Emails allegedly showed Ferguson having ongoing communication with Epstein, after his conviction for soliciting sex from a minor and consequent prison time.

Communication in which she was said to be very complimentary to the offender.

The documents also allegedly show that Ferguson accepted money from the disgraced financier.

It comes as Ferguson’s alleged spending habits have been highlighted in recent reports, exposing her alleged approach to finances.

‘Why’ Sarah Ferguson needed money from Jeffrey Epstein

Historian Andrew Lownie laid bare the former Duchess of York’s costly habits in his biography: The Rise And Fall Of The House Of York.

Ferguson has previously admitted that she received £15k from Epstein.

She apologised for this “gigantic error of judgement” in an interview with the London Evening Standard in 2011.

Mr Lownie believes that Ferguson actually took a much greater sum from Epstein.

Sarah Ferguson’s spending habits

“A mutual friend of Andrew and Epstein has claimed, ‘I think that Sarah has actually received hundreds of thousands of dollars’ from Epstein’,” Mr Lownie penned in his telling book. He added: “Ferguson denies this.”

According to reports, Fergie has always had unhealthy spending habits. These resulted in mounting debts, allegedly.

By 1995, Fergie and Andrew’s marriage had come to an end and speculation was swirling about Ferguson’s funds. Andrew and Ferguson had split in 1992 and their divorce was finalised in 1996.

As reported by the Daily Mail, at the start of 1995, Fergie was ‘forced’ out of her Romenda Lodge home when the rent increased.

Ferguson reportedly moved into Kingsbourne on the same Surrey estate and to celebrate, threw a “£3,000 champagne party” for the 150 builders and removal men that helped her move in, according to Lownie.

‘Frivolous’ Fergie

It was later revealed that Fergie was paying a £6k a month in rent for Kingsbourne.

She was also said to be paying out £32k in staff wages and £16k on phone bills.

“The duchess continued to live beyond her means,” Mr Lownie claimed. “Employing a staff of 17 that included a cook, driver, maid, butler, dresser, nanny, three secretaries, a personal assistant, lady-in-waiting, accountant and accountant’s assistant, two gardeners, a flower arranger, and dog walker.”

Unbelievably, Ferguson’s staff allegedly included a helper to “pick up the dog s***” as well as another person to “help him”.

Lownie also claimed that Ferugson spent an eye-popping “£25,000 on frocks, shoes and handbags by Danish designer Isabell Kristensen” in just one week.

Meanwhile, according to the biographer, “it was said she spent £14,000 in one month with a particular London wine merchant.”

Fergie was also said to enjoy spending £300-a-week on vegetables at Waitrose and insisted her beloved dogs were cooked “proper dinners, liver or sausages with gravy”.

Sarah Ferguson’s spending ‘exposed’ by ex-lover

Previously, in 1996, Fergie’s ex-lover, financial adviser John Bryan, made several claims about Fergie’s spending.

He claimed to the now defunct paper the News of the World that Ferguson was spending a huge £860,000 (around £1.7million today) per year.

Bryan claimed that £300k of this was spent on staff, £150k was spent on gifts and £50k on flowers.

He also claimed that £50k was spent on parties, and another £150k went on travel. However, none of these claims have been confirmed or verified by Ferguson.

Representatives for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Sarah Ferguson and Buckingham Palace have been contacted for comment.
