Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor could reportedly be facing renewed pressure over his links to Jeffrey Epstein after Todd Blanche, Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer, was confirmed as US Attorney General.
RadarOnline claims Andrew’s camp has been watching developments involving Ghislaine Maxwell closely. Blanche met the convicted sex trafficker in August 2025 while serving as Deputy Attorney General.
The US-focused speculation comes while Andrew remains under investigation in Britain. Police arrested him earlier this year on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The investigation concerns an allegation that he shared sensitive information with Epstein while working as Britain’s trade envoy. He held the role between 2001 and 2011.

The US Senate confirmed Blanche by 50 votes to 49 before he took office on August 10. His new role gives the former Trump defence lawyer significant authority over federal law enforcement.
An unnamed source, described by Radar as a senior palace source, claimed Blanche’s promotion would leave Andrew “sweating” because of his earlier meeting with Maxwell.
The source told the outlet: “Anything that puts Epstein and Maxwell back under that spotlight is uncomfortable territory for Andrew, as it could bring him closer to being forced to give testimony in the US.”
Radar presented the prospect of Andrew giving testimony as the unnamed source’s assessment. The insider also claimed that Blanche’s contact with Maxwell had made his appointment particularly uncomfortable for the former working royal.
A second unnamed royal insider said Maxwell’s knowledge of Epstein’s circle would cause concern for Andrew’s side. Maxwell has continued trying to secure her release after her transfer to a minimum-security federal prison camp, according to the report.

Andrew’s Jeffrey Epstein scandal
Andrew’s association with Epstein became one of the biggest crises of his public life. Virginia Giuffre alleged that Epstein trafficked her to have sex with Andrew when she was 17. Andrew repeatedly denied her allegations.
Ms Giuffre later brought a civil case against Andrew in New York, alleging sexual assault. He denied wrongdoing and sought to have the lawsuit dismissed.
The case ended with an out-of-court settlement in 2022. The sum remained undisclosed, and Andrew made no admission of liability. The accompanying statement acknowledged Ms Giuffre as an established victim of abuse and expressed Andrew’s regret over his association with Epstein.
Ms Giuffre tragically took her own life last year.

Andrew had already faced intense criticism following his 2019 BBC Newsnight interview. During the programme, he defended aspects of his former friendship with Epstein. He stepped away from public royal duties days later.
Further royal consequences followed. Andrew’s military affiliations and royal patronages went back to Queen Elizabeth II, and he ceased using his HRH style officially.
Last year, King Charles initiated a formal process to have Andrew’s remaining royal titles and honours removed, including his title of prince. He is now known simply as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
