Singer Will Young has admitted he is struggling with his health as he opens up about his battle with anxiety.
The Leave Right Now hitmaker, 46, who competed on Strictly in 2016, was previously diagnosed with complex PTSD. To manage this, he has undergone a “lot of therapy”.
In a new health update, the BRIT Award winner admitted he’s been having a “difficult time” recently and would spend days lying in bed.

Will Young opens up about anxiety
During an appearance on Jo Whiley and Zoe Ball’s Dig It podcast, Will said his anxiety can be “isolating”. He revealed he found solace in gardening but also relied on “thought-blocking” to help him, in addition to sharing his struggles with others.
“I’ve been having a difficult time with my emotions, but I always think it’s really good to be transparent about it, so yeah, I have been struggling, but I’m feeling like I can sort of come up for air now,” he said.
“I’ve found this really good person that sort of helps deal with stored trauma in the body, so that’s really helping.”

‘I do a lot of therapy’
Will admitted his anxiety isn’t related to work. He insisted he feels it “very physically” and doesn’t “really feel it in my head as much”.
“I’m not a worrier. I sort of got on top of that quite a few years ago, and I do a lot of therapy… I’m more of the model that stuff that’s stuck in the body drives the mind, because something comes up in the body and then the mind goes, because the mind is a problem-fixing tool, it wants to go ‘what’s going on?'” he continued.
“But if it’s something from our past, let’s say I’m opening the door to the postwoman, and yet I’m having a shame attack in front of the postwoman. It doesn’t make sense.
“My brain wants to work it out, and that’s why we can get into difficulties, because if it doesn’t marry up with what’s going on in our present day, we get in a bit of a tizz.”
On a positive note, Will said he is no longer “dissociated”. However, he is now in a place where he is “confronting stuff”.
Will declared that communication is important. However, he confessed he initially didn’t tell anyone about his recent struggles apart from his boyfriend.
Fortunately, after sharing his experiences with people, he said, “That’s really helped”.
