Vogue Williams admitted marriage to Brian McFadden makes her ‘feel little bit sick in her mouth’

No love lost there then!

Vogue Williams previously stated that she feels “sick” when she thinks of her marriage to Brian McFadden.

TV presenter Vogue, 39, is now married to Spencer Matthews, 36 – and the couple share three young children together.

Speaking on their podcast back in 2020, Vogue Williams revealed she’d rather forget her first marriage ever happened. The comments came after Spencer said he regularly checks the contents of their safe, which stores their marriage certificates…

He said: “Every time I go into the safe by the way I have to see your marriage certificates because, like, we needed them for a mortgage and I just have to look at them. Like what the [bleep] is this crap? And it is unearthed every single time I look in the safe, which is most days.”

Let’s bin that one, it makes me feel a little bit sick in my mouth.

Vogue reassured him that she never thinks about her past life with the Westlife singer, although she has spoken about it quite a lot lately.

At the time, Vogue said: “I’m so glad I don’t have to look at the safe. Sometimes I forget it ever happened. Let’s bin that one, it makes me feel a little bit sick in my mouth.”

Vogue went on to say she doesn’t feel sad about any of her past breakups. She explained: “I can’t say I’ve ever been massively sad about a breakup either. I was more embarrassed.”

Spencer teasingly replied: “I don’t think we really need to go into each other’s exes, especially from where you are sat.”

When were Vogue Williams and Brian McFadden married?

Vogue married Brian – on Tipping Point today (June 11) – in 2012 but they’d split by 2015. Their divorce was finalised in 2017.

She has since revealed that the marriage was an “epic failure”. Speaking last year, Vogue said: “I got married and divorced really young and I found that painfully embarrassing because it was just like such an epic failure and it was so public.

“Now I look back and I’m like, do you know what, no it’s not! It was a learning curve, but again, no one died, who cares? It’s nice to be able to look back and have that feeling about even that situation, and I just can’t imagine anything would embarrass me so much now.”

Life ‘ruined’

Vogue also shared her concerns recently that she felt like she’d “ruined her life” after her divorce.

Speaking on The Life of Bryony podcast recently, Vogue said: “In your thirties, you are still trying to figure stuff out. I remember being divorced at 31 and thinking, I’ve ruined my life. I am never going to have kids, I am never going to do what I always wanted to do. Then you see how your life actually starts to unfold – that’s why it feels exciting to move into your forties.”

Wedding blues

The star also revealed that she had concerns about the wedding from the off. In her autobiography, Big Mouth, released last month, she shared: “The morning of the wedding I felt very stressed and so anxious because deep down I knew I had made a mistake.

“After the wedding I tried to make things work. The relationship wasn’t all terrible, we did have some great times too, and for the most part he was good fun to be around. But he was not husband material.

“It was me who called it in the end. I couldn’t keep trying, it felt pointless. I’m not here to throw anyone under the bus but there are things that went on in our relationship that will never be forgiven.”

Vogue Williams and Brian McFadden now

Presenter Vogue wed Spencer in 2018, and they now have three children – son Theodore, six, daughter Gigi, four, and son Otto, three.

Brian, meanwhile, was married to Kerry Katona from 2002-2006 and share two daughters – Molly and Lilly. He is currently engaged to Danielle Parkinson. The pair have one child – daughter Ruby, who recently turned four.

Kerry previously claimed that her girls felt “hurt” that Brian is a “better dad” to Ruby than he was to them. However, both girls are now living in Ireland and appear to have a good relationship with Brian. In fact, Lilly joined him on stage during a Boyzlife gig just last week.
