Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova has shared a hospital bed selfie after being rushed to hospital yesterday (August 12) following an injury during training.
The star, 35, is said to have suffered a “pretty nasty” fall during rehearsals for the BBC dance show. Now she’s confirmed that she landed on her back, and has shared an update on her participation in the 2025 series.

Nadiya Bychkova hospitalised
The incident took place yesterday, while Nadiya was training for the upcoming series of Strictly in North London.
Earlier that morning, the star had shared a reel on social media, showing her reunited on the dancefloor with fellow Strictly stars Jowita Przystal, Nancy Xu and Katya Jones, as well as this year’s new pros, Julian Caillon and Alexis Warr.

An ambulance was called amid fears for Nadiya’s back.
“It looked pretty nasty and no one was taking any chances,” an insider told the Mirror. “The Strictly crew rushed into action and she was stretchered out.”

A further source then said: “As a precaution, following a fall during rehearsals, Nadiya was taken to hospital for checks and is receiving full support from medical and welfare teams. Rehearsals continue and the Strictly team are in close contact with Nadiya.”
The London Ambulance Service also shared a statement. It read: “We were called at 12:37pm on Tuesday 12 August to reports of an incident at Regent’s Park Road, NW1. We sent an ambulance crew to the scene and treated one person before taking them to hospital.”

Nadiya shares health update
Now Nadiya has shared a picture of herself in hospital, and updated fans on her involvement in the 2025 series.
“Well… where do I start? What a 24 hours! Thank you so much for all the messages, love and support. I just wanted you to know that I am okay,” she started her post.
Nadiya then revealed: “I had a fall in training yesterday and landed on my back. I was really worried for a while and I was so thankful to the Strictly family and medical team who really looked after me. The staff at the hospital were so kind and caring.
“I’m smiling in the picture but it was really scary and there were a few tears as I had to lie still for hours but I was given the all-clear after an X-ray and allowed to go home.”
She then revealed: “I’ve got some physio today but I will be back on that dance floor soon and I’ll be ready to shine and sparkle in the new series of the biggest show on TV. I can’t wait for you to see it.”
She signed off: “Keep dancing!”
Fans and friends flooded the comments section with support.
Motsi Mabuse said: “My heart dropped when I heard! So grateful you’re okay.” Her former series partner Dan Walker commented: “Glad to hear you’re okay partner.” Former It Takes Two host Zoe Ball commented: “Sending healing love.”

Strictly line-up reveals underway
The countdown is officially on, with the celeb contestants being announced this week.
So far, actresses Alex Kingston, Balvinder Sopal and Ellie Goldstein, influencers Dani Dyer and George Clarke, sportsmen Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Chris Robshaw and Drag Race’s La Voix have been confirmed to be joining the show.
