Patsy Kensit previously opened up about a series of traumatic events that led to her being diagnosed with PTSD.
The actress, 57, has been in the business for more than four decades. From stints on Strictly to EastEnders, Patsy – who is on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh today (May 25) – has remained booked and busy.
However, Patsy has faced her fair share of challenges over the years. Back in February, Patsy revealed that she had been diagnosed with PTSD.
And in a recent interview, Patsy opened up about her struggles behind the scenes.

Patsy Kensit ‘suffering from PTSD for a long time’
Speaking to Good Housekeeping in February, Patsy candidly revealed that she had “been diagnosed as suffering from PTSD for a very long time”.
According to Patsy, it started with her mum, Margaret, being very ill with breast cancer. Margaret was diagnosed with breast cancer when Patsy was just four.
Sadly, after a 20-year battle with the illness, she passed away when Patsy was in her early twenties.

Patsy’s difficult three years
What’s more, at the time of the interview, Patsy reflected on the past three stressful years.
In 2024, actress Patsy ended her relationship with millionaire businessman Patric Cassidy just five months after she announced her shock engagement.
Patric surprised the star – and her fans – after getting down on one knee just weeks after they started dating in 2023.
However, while she was going through her split from Patric, she was also hit with more challenges.
Patsy ‘broken and numb’
At the time, Patsy had lost money due to a skincare line falling through. She also had to deal with her son, Lennon, leaving home for the first time.
Reflecting on that period, Patsy said: “I was broken and numb. As well as the skincare line falling apart and the broken engagement, I really struggled with the empty nest when the boys moved out…”
However, Patsy went on to praise her pals and revealed: “My friends rallied round me during the past few years – they saved me. I love hanging out with them.”
Watch Patsy on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh on a Sunday (May 25) at 9:30am on ITV1.
