Michelle Williams has opened up about raising her daughter without Heath Ledger.
The actress’ ex passed away 7 years ago following an accidental drug overdose, leaving daughter, Matilda, without a dad.
He had split from Michelle in 2007 and had recently finished filming Batman: The Dark Knight, winning an Oscar posthumously for his portrayal of The Joker.
The 36-year-old has kept quiet since Heath’s death, but has now revealed her deepest concerns about her daughter growing up without a dad.
She told Porter: “In all honesty, for pretty much everything else, I feel like I’m a believer in not fighting circumstances, accepting where you are and where you’ve been.
“In pretty much all senses but one, I would be able to go totally down that line of thinking were it not for Matilda not having her dad.

She continued: “Talk about a learning process.

“I think, God, what would I say about it? I feel really sensitive about it and certainly did not expect to still be dating at 36 with an 11-year-old. This is not what I imagined.”
Despite Heath’s tragic passing, Michelle says she and Matilda – who is now 11-years-old – have finally reached a place where they are able to be happy again.
She said: “Life has brought us to a place that’s not just surviving, but thriving.”
