New mum Gemma Atkinson has shared her thoughts after people questioned why she hasn’t posted pictures of her newborn daughter.
Gemma, who welcomed her first child with boyfriend Gorka Marquez last Thursday (July 4), wrote a message online to explain.
The Ex-Emmerdale star revealed she and Gorka want to have some privacy with their baby girl first.

She wrote on her Instagram Stories: “To people asking why we haven’t posted any pictures. No, we haven’t done a magazine deal.”
Gemma, 34, explained that she wants their nearest and dearest to see their baby daughter before the rest of the world does.
She continued: “We just want all our family and friends to come over and meet her first that’s all. It’s important for me that they all get a hold and a cuddle first.”
Gemma has been happy to update her fans on how she is finding motherhood so far.
She admitted she has been “getting to grips” with her new role and branded her little one “wonderful”.
She gushed on her Stories: “Thank you for all your lovely messages. Our daughter is so wonderful. I’m slowly getting to grips with motherhood, learning loads, and I’m loving being in this little cocoon with her.
“I feel extremely lucky to be on this journey with mine and Gorks little human.”

Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka has also praised his partner. He admitted he is in awe of Gemma after seeing her bring their child into the world.

He wrote in a gushing post: “@glouiseatkinson my absolute HERO! After seeing you go through all you did to bring our little girl to life has made me love and respect you even more. What a trooper you are. I couldn’t be more proud of you!! ♥️ Thank you SO much to the nurses & doctors at The Royal Bolton Hospital who did the most incredible job taking care of gem and our baby (sic)”.
