Gangster Dave Courtney died penniless and did not leave a will, it has been reported.
Earlier today (October 15), it was alleged that Courtney left no money to wife Jenny Pinto nor his two daughters following his death.
The news comes after his family released a ‘suicide note’ video that he filmed three months before taking his own life. Courtney died by gunshot wound in October 2023.
Death of Dave Courtney shared by family
Dave, 64, died by suicide on October 23 2023. His death came after a secret battle with prostate cancer. He was also suffering from the debilitating side effects of arthritis.
Earlier today, the Mail shared that he died penniless and without a will.
The details were revealed in a Letter of Administration filed at London’s High Court. The Mail claims a registrar wrote: “The application has stated that the gross value of the estate in the UK amounts to £0.”
Documents also suggest his Camelot Castle home was sold for £500,000 in July 2024.
Following his death, it was claimed that Courtney had made provisions for up to 10% of his estate to go to charity. It was reported that he’d been set to donate tens of thousands to Autistic Inclusive Meets after his estate was settled and his possessions were sold in an online auction. Dave was a patron of the charity.

Family of Dave Courtney release ‘suicide note’ video
At the time of his death, his family revealed they’d discovered a video that he filmed earlier that year, as he planned to take his own life.
In an Instagram post, his family revealed that Dave had filmed a ‘suicide note’ video while he planned and prepared for his own death.
It was captioned: “Following examination of Dave’s personal effects by Mr Brendan McGirr, a video has been found that was filmed on July 5th 2023 in his Camelot Castle home in Plumstead. The video clearly shows Dave had not taken the decision to take his own life lightly.
“He had gone into thorough planning and preparation to ensure as little pain as possible for his loved ones in the aftermath of his death.”
At the start of the self-recorded three minute and 33 second clip, he rubbed his nose and said: “As you can all see I am of sound mind and body. Sorry, I took the coward’s way out. Don’t go racking your brains and thinking why I would do this. I’ll tell you why.
“No woman trouble or anything like that. I am hurting. And disguising a lot of pain. I can’t get up and down the stairs and in and out of the car. I am not enjoying it [life] at the moment. That is really it. And I don’t want to waste a wicked life that I have had. It has been superb. Any day I can think back on, it was funny and brilliant.”
‘I am not enjoying it’
He said he did not want to waste the “wicked life he had” by spending the rest of it in pain. He added: “I am not enjoying it and I do what I want. That really is why I am not here today. Don’t be sad. Please don’t be sad.”
The video ended with Dave offering a smile and a shrug of the shoulders before he said: “Um… well… That’s it really.”
