Ellie has quashed the whispers with her defiant appearance

| Updated:

Ellie Goldstein has confirmed she has not left Strictly Come Dancing with an appearance on spin-off show, It Takes Two.

The Strictly contestant, 23, has been at the centre of widespread rumours over the past few days that claim she has quit the show.

But proving there is no truth to the whispers, Ellie made a defiant appearance with pro partner Vito Coppola on BBC Two last night.

The pair appeared on the sofa in the Strictly: It Takes Two studio to discuss their upcoming dance. This weekend is Halloween Week and Ellie and Vito revealed more details about what they are planning.

Strictly Come Dancing: Ellie confirms she hasn’t left

Ellie began her appearance on Strictly: It Takes Two by discussing last Saturday’s dance. The model and actress did a Salsa to a Spice Girls medley and dressed up as Emma Bunton for the night.

When asked how it felt to channel Baby Spice, Ellie said she was “very honoured and very privileged”. Vito, meanwhile, was quick to sing his celebrity partner’s praises.

“Ellie is just like a light. When Ellie comes in the room, everything just lights up,” the 33-year-old dancer told Fleur. Turning to Ellie, Vito continued: “You bring so much sparkle and joy and happiness and smiles.

“Honestly, it’s just the improvement you make week by week. And actually, day by day. I am so, so proud of you, you know.”

The pair, who have been noticeably quiet on social media since last weekend, did not mention the rumours claiming Ellie has quit the show.

What are Ellie and Vito doing for Halloween Week?

Strictly Come Dancing bosses have now revealed all the Halloween Week songs and dances. Ellie and Vito are doing a Tango and they will be performing it to Abracadabra by Lady Gaga.

Vito revealed to Fleur: “Basically, I’m going to be a bunny.” Ellie chipped in: “And he’s going to come out of the hat!”

Vito continued: “It’s going to be a spooky Tango but, at the same time, there’s going to be lots of interaction. There’s going to be lots of tricks.”

Vito and Ellie then revealed to Fleur that they have been inspired by a dance she did on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022.

Fleur, who was also partnered with Vito on the show, had performed a Salsa in Halloween Week and was dressed as a fortune teller. At the end of the dance, Fleur used her hand to make Vito ‘magically’ move up and down as he knelt on the floor.

Vito said: “We got inspired by the end of your Salsa. Because of ‘boom’ the magic. Ellie wants to do exactly the same step at the end. So we are going to channel our inner Fleur for the end and Ellie will give me a bit of magic.”

Meanwhile, Ellie said she is looking forward to seeing all the celebrities and professional dancers in their Halloween costumes. But when it comes to keeping a serious expression, she admits she is struggling.

“I love the Tango but we are The Cheeky Team,” Ellie said. “Vito says, ‘Be serious!’ and I’m like, ‘I can’t!’” Vito added: “It’s hard because we’re always being super playful and super cheeky. And now we cannot laugh!”

When is Strictly Come Dancing on?

Strictly Come Dancing’s Halloween Week starts at 6.35pm this Saturday (November 1, 2025) on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The following evening, viewers will discover who is the next celebrity to be eliminated in Strictly Come Dancing: The Results.

The Results show is also on BBC One and airs at 7.15pm and will, of course, feature a dance-off between the two lowest scoring couples. The judges will then decide who goes home.
