Coleen Nolan has opened up about a painful leg injury that’s been affecting her daily life, and it all started with an overexcited dog.
In the latest episode of Loose Women: The Podcast, released on Tuesday (April 29), Coleen sat down with fellow panellist Jane Moore to discuss topics ranging from divorce to insomnia.
But Jane couldn’t help but address what many fans may have already noticed: Coleen was sporting a large leg brace.

Coleen Nolan reveals injury
“Now I saw you hobbling a bit earlier,” Jane remarked.
“I was,” Coleen confirmed, lifting her leg slightly. “I’ve got my leg brace on,” she said, gesturing toward the bulky support on her left leg.
Naturally, Jane had to ask: “And what have you done? What’s going on?”
That’s when Coleen launched into the unexpected origin story behind her injury.
“So, last year, my rescued Labrador from Macedonia got very excited. Her and the boxer – I was in a field with them,” the Loose Women host recalled. “You know, they race around. I’m casually walking, didn’t see them come up behind me full pelt… and she just wiped me out. Up in the air. I knew I’d done something.”
Jane gasped: “What, instant pain?”
“It was just… ‘Ooh, that’s not good,'” Coleen said, laughing slightly. “You know when you fall and then you get up and think, oh, that’s hurting. Anyway, long story short – tore my meniscus.
“I’d like to say I got it playing football or some kind of sport, but no, the dog took me out.”

‘It’s really, really painful’
While the incident happened last year, Coleen explained that the injury has recently flared up again, forcing her back into physio and now a brace.
“It’s really, really painful,” she admitted. “But here’s the thing – this is quite a common injury when people fall, whatever age you are. But now I get people going: ‘Oh what have you done?’ and I tell them, and they go: ‘It’s not easy getting old, is it?’ All the time!
“And I want to go: ‘It’s nothing to do with my age! That could have happened when I was 20!’ It’s like every ailment you get now it’s because of your age.”
“They probably thought you’d had a fall!” Jane chimed in with a laugh. “We’re gonna come and de-rug your house.”
Coleen laughed, protesting: “No!”
But despite the light-hearted banter, Jane acknowledged the seriousness of the situation. “I’m laughing, but you are in a lot of pain, aren’t you?”
“I am. I am,” Coleen confirmed.
Jane then asked how the injury was affecting her everyday life.
“It’s constant, isn’t it?” Coleen said. “And I’m trying not to limp because it looks awful, but I have to limp – because if I don’t limp, it hurts even more. So everything’s a bit of an effort at the moment.”
