Today’s Coronation Street ITVX early release (Friday, October 3) marked the return of Bethany Platt to the cobbles as she made her dramatic comeback.
But, her first scenes back didn’t immediately give her a warm welcome. Instead, she was seen being questioned by Kit and Jess at the police station.
Fortunately for her though, Kit’s in a relationship with Bethany’s mum Sarah so he managed to get her off the hook. Being a Platt has its perks.
Bethany’s back with a bang
Kit Green was in an unusually chipper mood today until PC Jess Hayward burst his bubble by revealing that Bethany Platt was waiting for him in the police interview room.
Bethany was being accused by her former boss of car theft, but she assured Kit that she didn’t class it as that.
She’d made a mistake at work and emailed some confidential information to the wrong person, quitting her job before she was pushed.
She then got in her boss’ car and drove to Manchester. She’d arranged for her friend to then pick it up and drive it back the next day.
With her name of the car insurance, she thought everything would be fine as she usually drove the car. But, her boss was claiming that she never asked for permission.
Working his magic though, Kit managed to talk Bethany’s boss out of pressing charges meaning that Bethany was free to go.
Daniel and Bethany talk it out in Coronation Street
Free to leave, Bethany then reunited with her mum Sarah and admitted that she was back in Weatherfield for good.
Sarah said that Bethany could stay with her but encouraged her to find somewhere else for the long term.
Daniel then saw that Bethany was back and asked if they could talk, but Bethany got the completely wrong end of the stick.
She told Daniel that she would never get back with him so he shouldn’t even try. Daniel then told Bethany that he had no intention to as they were ‘bad for each other.’
With that made clear, it’s not yet been revealed what the future holds for Bethany back on Coronation Street. But, it doesn’t look like Daniel will be part of her story going forward.

Coronation Street usually airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
