It’s fair to say families are either hit or miss when they arrive in Soapland and the Anderson family in Emmerdale so far seem to be the latter.
With vicar Charles and son Ethan bumping along nicely with fans, soap bosses decided to fill out the family by introducing mum Claudette and Dad Victor. But fans are not impressed.
Last month viewers declared they ‘can’t take much more’ and begged the soap to act over the Anderson family. And now the cries are getting even louder.
Victor wants to stay living with Charles
Back in July Claudette convinced Charles to let convict Victor stay living in his house. Viewers will know that Victor has a brain aneurysm and wanted to come back into Charles’ life to make amends.
However, Charles hasn’t been that keen on rebuilding a relationship with his criminal dad.
Now, although Charles has let Victor into his home and his life, he’s far from okay with it.
He’s sick of his mum giving Victor money and fawning over him. Tonight, Claudette asks Charles to be out of the way so she can cook a romantic meal for her husband – and Charles makes his displeasure clear.
As it looks like the family is here to stay – and their presence in the storylines is only intensifying as next week they take centre stage over a jewellery theft – fans aren’t happy.
Emmerdale fans make plea to soap over the Andersons
In fact, for quite a while, fans have branded the Andersons as one of the most boring families in soap.
Viewers recently made a desperate plea to the soap to get rid of the Andersons as they ‘can’t take much more.’
One Emmerdale viewer tweeted: “Go, Victor, and take Fake Edna with you. And the vicar.”
Another fan commented: “So, Victor is moving into Charles and Manpreet’s and there’s a new Sharma prompting more Jai overacting… can’t take much more…”
A third person wrote: “Charles and his family really need to go. Not one redeeming feature among them, his parents don’t work but are always in the cafe and the pub, just not realistic (but when has it ever been in soap world?)”
“Worst family in this soap. Get rid. Acting deplorable. Charles is fine,” declared another.
Then last night (Thursday August 24) Claudette was seen giving Victor more cash – and fans think it’s high time she used her money to leave!
“If Claudette has cash to sub Victor why doesn’t she bog off and rent somewhere preferably with Victor miles and miles away?” questioned one.
Another agreed: “If Claudette can splash on Victor then can she splash out on leaving with him?! Pleaaaaassseeeeeee.”
“How much more of this Claudette/Victor [bleep] do we have to put up with?” asked someone else.
A fourth person said: “I’m starting a campaign to get rid of Claudette and Victor anyone wish to join me?”
Emmerdale: Will the Andersons leave the village?
Instead of leaving the village, the Andersons seem to be growing in size.
Fans want them all to leave Emmerdale for good, but will the soap ever get the message?
