Susanna Reid returns to GMB with health condition
Susanna took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and shared a picture of herself and her GMB co-star, Ed Balls.
But despite the smiles, the mum-of-three revealed she’s been diagnosed with mild vertigo.
The condition can leave sufferers feeling off-balance and dizzy, which is exactly how Susanna is currently feeling.
She asked her 857,000 followers for advice and admitted that Ed was on “standby” in case she actually fell over.
Susanna wrote: “BACK IN THE STUDIO! After a lovely break, we are back and I have mild vertigo so everything is spinning – let me know any tips for regaining my balance.
“Steady @edballs is standing by in case I tip over.”
Susanna Reid has been diagnosed with ‘mild’ vertigo. But what is it?
According to the NHS, vertigo makes sufferers feel like “everything around you is spinning”.
It can affect balance and, in severe cases, cause nausea and vomiting.
The most common cause is problems with the inner ear.
These can include; inner ear infections, inflammation of the vestibular nerve and Ménière’s disease. This is a rare inner ear condition.
It can also be sparked by specific head movements. This is known as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
Migraines and certain medication can also cause vertigo.
How is it treated?
The NHS states that most people will vertigo will get better without medical treatment.
However, if it is caused by an infection then a GP might prescribe antibiotics.
The NHS adds: “You could also be given exercises to do to try to correct your balance.
“Antihistamines can sometimes help with symptoms.”
Fans were quick to offer their words of wisdom and tales of their own experience with vertigo to Susanna.
One replied: “Omg I suffer from vertigo, it’s awful. It settles after rest but do not move your head quickly and try the online exercises. It does just ebb off but it’s such an awful feeling but doesn’t last so you will be ok.”
Another added: “I suffer from Vertigo. Sometimes its mild, sometimes it’s severe. Don’t turn or get up quickly. If it doesn’t get better ask your GP to perform the exercises. Stay hydrated, cut down.on caffeine, and try to sleep on high pillows for a bit.”
And a third said: “No sudden turns or bending. Turn your whole body not just your head Like your on a boat horrible.”
Others told Susanna to find a health practitioner to carry out the Epley manoeuvre.
This is an NHS-approved treatment that involves specific head movements to reposition ear crystals.

Martin Lewis takes over
There was no gentle easing back in for Susanna, as Monday’s episode for Good Morning Britain was certainly a heated one.
Susanna and Ed interviewed Conservative leader, Kemi Badenoch, in the studio.
But during the chat, Kemi ended up clashing with Martin Lewis over the Tory’s policy on student loans.
Martin actually stormed onto the set and interrupted the interview to tell her the policy “isn’t the solution” for helping students left with huge and spiralling debts after going to university.
He then sat down next to Susanna and Ed and took over the segment entirely.
One viewer mused on X: “This is terrific telly. What on earth was Martin Lewis even doing?”
