Sharon Osbourne’s X Factor return uncertain due to back pain and potential surgery

The show wouldn't be the same without her

Sharon Osbourne’s future on ITV’s The X Factor is up in the air at the moment due to a health crisis.

The legendary personality has revealed that she is in agony from a trapped nerve and may have to have back surgery to ease the pain.

But this of course could cause trouble for the star as she is expected to return to the judging panel for this year’s show.

Whilst speaking on US chat show The Talk, the 64-year-old revealed she’s still waiting to see if she’ll need surgery.

And if she does, it’s unlikely that she’ll appear on The X Factor.

She said: “Right now I happen to have a trapped nerve in my back and it’s killing me.

“I have a trapped nerve… a pinch between my L3 and L4 and I had to have, what is it when you have a baby, an epidural. There was no baby, but I had an epidural and I woke up to no baby, just a bad back.”

Speaking about her possible surgery, the star said: “I wait another week and, if it hasn’t fixed, then I have to have surgery.”

But the media personality said she wasn’t sure how the pain started, as she revealed: “I just bent down.

“I bent down picking something up. Nothing, nothing, nothing and it was like, ‘Oh that was a bit rough,’ when I came back up and I didn’t think anything of it.

“A couple of hours later it was like a stabbing pain.”

But this isn’t the only time Sharon has taken time off her busy work schedule due to her health.

In 2015, the star revealed that she took a month off work because she “had gone crazy for a while”.

The famous TV personality said she hit a dark place after struggling with depression.

She explained: “I needed to unplug from society.

“I had gone a bit crazy for a while. I suffer with really bad depression from time to time.”

And Sharon insists “she couldn’t live without” medication to keep her mind sane.

Despite this, Sharon made a comeback on last year’s The X Factor, which saw Matt Terry beat Saara Aalto in the show’s huge finale.

Aw, we hope she gets better soon.

It wouldn’t be the same without her!
