ITV ‘cuts ties’ with Sarah Ferguson amid Epstein scandal
Fergie was once hailed a “saviour” of daytime telly. Now, the broadcaster has supposedly dropped the royal for good.
Sources within the broadcaster, as per Katie Hind’s rundown for the Daily Mail, gushed that when Fergie first appeared on This Morning and Loose Women she was “adored” by the company’s higher ups.
They even praised her “relatable” nature and claimed she was “very likeable” to viewers.
Sarah Ferguson’s TV career is no more
It comes after Sarah’s ties to late convicted sex offender Epstein was put under the magnifying glass again in recent weeks.
The Mail on Sunday uncovered an email Sarah allegedly wrote to Epstein.
In the 2011 email, she referred to Epstein as a “supreme friend” despite publicly vowing to cut ties with him weeks before.
As a result of the email resurfacing, Sarah was dropped from several charities.
Now, it’s reported that Fergie’s future with ITV has taken a huge hit.
An insider claimed to the Daily Mail: “Fergie won’t be appearing on ITV again. There is nothing in the pipeline for her. There was once such high hopes for her. She appeared on This Morning as a guest presenter and contributor, as well as Loose Women. Fergie did a lot with ITV for a time and was always part of the gang. She was very much part of the plans at ITV but no more.
“There will be no more Fergie on ITV, there are no longer any current plans or anymore anytime in the future. She’s done with the channel now.”
Fergie’s Loose Women debut
In November 2023, Sarah made her Loose Women debut.
In her appearance she joined the panel to launch an important breast cancer awareness campaign, entitled Don’t Skip Your Screening.
The aforementioned source said of Fergie’s time on the panel: “She got on great with the other panellists and brought something different, but no more.”
Following Holly Willoughby’s unexpected departure from This Morning, Sarah was welcomed to the sofa by This Morning’s former editor Martin Frizell.
Sarah Ferguson gushed over This Morning role
Fergie joined Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in the studio a couple of weeks after her Loose Women debut, for a special edition which she was praised for.
At the time, Sarah Ferguson gushed: “I have appeared on This Morning before, but this time I am coming back in a very different role. I love live TV and am an enormous fan of the show.”
