Princess Eugenie trolled for making mistake in tribute to sister Beatrice

She made a grammatical error

Princess Eugenie has been mocked for making a mistake in a tribute to her sister Beatrice.

The royal wrote a sweet message to her older sister to celebrate National Siblings Day on Wednesday alongside a stunning snap from her wedding day and a sweet picture of the pair.

However, some fans noticed Eugenie had made a grammatical error in her message, in which she wrote ‘your’ when it should be ‘you’re’.

She wrote: “Happy National Siblings Day… and to my big sister, your the best especially when helping me and my dress into the getaway car. #nationalsiblingday.”

Some people were quick to spot the mistake, with one person commenting: “It’s ‘you’re’.”

Another said: “Grammar mistake, you’re not your,” while a third wrote: “You’re not your. Ugh.”

Others jumped to her defence.

One person said: “Even royals make spelling/grammar errors. We’ve allllll done it – Let it go… Come on! (sic)” while another wrote: “It’s freaking Instagram. Why are most of the comments on here from the grammar police?”

A third added: “It is a beautiful photograph of you both. Ignore the nit pickers correcting your grammar – predictive text strikes again.”

Eugenie’s older sister Beatrice was diagnosed with dyslexia in early childhood and her parents, the Duke and Duchess of York, would record themselves reading her favourite stories so she could fall asleep to the sound of their voices.

Beatrice told the Evening Standard in 2017: “I was lucky my mother, with her great imagination, took the time to work on these with me.

“Taking the time to read together as a family became a ritual for us and I treasure the memories created whilst poring over the pages of the books my mother would collect for us, many of which I treasure to this day.”

The pair share an extremely close bond and Beatrice was Eugenie’s maid of honour at her wedding to husband Jack Brooksbank in October last year.
