Lady Sarah McCorquodale, the aunt of Prince William and Harry, suffered a “really bad” fall recently which left her hospitalised.
Lady Sarah, who is Princess Diana’s older sister, got into the accident last month, according to her brother Charles Spencer.
Charles said that Lady Sarah, 70, “has been in hospital for a long time” following the fall.
Lady Sarah McCorquodale hospitalised after ‘really bad fall’
Speaking on Gyles Brandreth’s Rosebud podcast, Charles revealed: “Sarah, who is nearly a decade older than me, who was always in trouble, she’s quite punchy.
“She’s still riding, and she’s had a really bad fall in the last month and has been in hospital for a long time.”
He added: “And I think, [she] was quite a handful as a patient, because the lead doctor said to my brother-in-law, ‘She’s quite a character, isn’t she?'”
William, 43, and Harry, 41, are said to remain close to their late mother’s side of the family.
According royal expert Jennie Bond, she believes it’s “obvious that the Spencer family have kept the communication channels open with Harry”.
Speaking to OK!, Ms Bond said: “Quietly, behind the scenes, it is obvious that the Spencer family have kept the communication channels open with Harry and that their affection for him is reciprocated.

“I’m sure Harry feels it’s important that he still has some kind of anchor here in the UK and, for now at least, it seems that it is with his aunts and uncle. And that has to be a positive thing.”
Lady Sarah attended both William’s wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011 and Harry’s nuptials to Meghan Markle in 2018.
Lady Sarah played ‘cupid’ to Charles and Diana
Meanwhile, Lady Sarah reportedly played “cupid” to her sister Diana and the then-Prince Charles in the 1980s.
Charles and Diana married in July 1981. During an interview with The Guardian a few months earlier, Lady Sarah revealed her role in their romance.
It was widely reported that Charles and Sarah had previously dated before he found love with Diana.
Lady Sarah told the publication: “I introduced them. I’m Cupid.”
