The cutest thing may have happened this week as Prince Louis was offered his first official royal role all thanks to his love of conkers!
The young prince, seven, is a big fan of conkers it seems. His mum, the Princess of Wales, recently revealed her youngest child enjoys collecting them.
The confession came during US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania’s UK state visit last month. The US First Lady joined Princess Kate to host a group of Squirrel Scouts at Frogmore Gardens in Windsor.

Princess Kate reveals Louis’ adorable conkers hobby
Kate, who is joint President of the Scouts, chatted to Chief Scout Dwayne Fields about her son Louis.
She said: “We keep finding conkers in cupboards, in his bed – conkers everywhere!”
We really appreciate the invite but currently Prince Louis is ‘conker-trating’ on his studies.
The Princess of Wales added that her youngest child even puts the conkers in his toy vehicles and plays with them.
Now, after hearing the revelation, the World Conker Championships wrote to the Prince and Princess of Wales to offer Louis his first official role – as their honorary patron.
Awwww!

Kensington Palace’s statement on royal role offer for Louis
It seems the offer tickled Kensington Palace staff, who gave an amusing response. However, it seems Prince William and Princess Kate politely declined the offer since Louis is focusing on his school studies.
A palace spokesperson said: “We really appreciate the invite but currently Prince Louis is ‘conker-trating’ on his studies.”
Meanwhile, spokesman for the World Conker Championships, St John Burkett, recently spoke about the offer for the young prince.
As reported by The Telegraph, Mr Burkett said: “Like the many other organisations for which members of the royal family are patrons, we have charitable aims and have raised approaching £450,000 to help people living with sight loss.

‘He would be the perfect honorary patron’
“We were so heartened to hear that Prince Louis is such a conkers fan and he would be the perfect honorary patron for our organisation.
“We would be delighted were his parents to accept our offer.

“The Princess of Wales herself is such a wonderful champion of childhood and nature, and playing conkers connects both children and adults to nature.”
Maybe one day, when Prince Louis is older, he can take on the role – if he still has a love for conkers!
