Love Actually sequel confirmed – with Sam and Joanna all grown up

This is the greatest news ever!

Can you believe it’s been 14 years since Love Actually first appeared in cinemas?

The love story captured the entire nation and had a pretty epic cast.

But now the stars are set to come together for a sequel!

The romantic comedy is set to make a return for Comic Relief, and has been cleverly named Red Nose Day Actually, and many of the original cast have signed up.

The segment is a ten-minute (not enough!) short and has been written by Richard Curtis, the original director and writer.

Hugh Grant, Martine McCutcheon, Keira Knightley and Liam Neeson are all returning!

Red Nose Day Actually will see the 2003 movie’s characters deal with life in the present day.

The British director said: “Over the years I’ve enjoyed doing Red Nose Day specials on TV things I’ve worked on – Blackadder, The Vicar of Dibley, and Mr Bean.

“It seemed like a fun idea this year to do a special sketch based on one of my films, since Red Nose Day is now in both the UK and America.

“I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to Love Actually, but I thought it might be fun to do ten minutes to see what everyone is now up to.

Even Rowan Atkinson makes a cheeky appearance!

Richard Curtis is so happy to have most of the original cast on board: “We’ve been delighted and grateful that so many of the cast are around and able to take part – and it’ll certainly be a nostalgic moment getting back together and recreating their characters 14 years later.

“We hope to make something that’ll be fun – very much in the spirit of the original film and of Red Nose Day – and which we hope will help bring lots of viewers and cash to the Red Nose Day shows.”

Unfortunately though, we’re going to have to wait until Spring!

It’s not being shown as part of Comic Relief on March 24.

Hurry up Spring!
