Jonathan Ross admits watching The Celebrity Traitors makes him so ‘stressed’ he comfort eats

The chat show legend finds watching the BBC show back 'tense'

Jonathan Ross has been reaching for the chocolate munchies while watching The Celebrity Traitors because he is “so stressed”.

The TV star, who was one of the original three Traitors in the show, admits his nerves are shot when the programme is on.

Last week, Jonathan’s identity as a Traitor was rumbled and he was banished from Ardross Castle. But despite his absence, Jonathan has still continued to watch the entire series… just about.

Jonathan, 64, has confessed that he has been stuffing his face with “unhealthy” snacks to keep calm when the BBC show is on.

He made the admission in a clip of his and his daughter Honey Kinny’s podcast, Reel Talk. The clip was captioned: “Stress eating during The Celebrity Traitors”.

Jonathan said to Honey: “If the day sadly comes when I’m no longer here and Channel 5 comes to you and says, ‘We’re doing a very low budget look at his life’, can I ask you to gloss over my unhealthy M&M consumption?”

Honey replies: “Look, I want to go warts and all and I think it needs to be on the record that you can polish off a family bag of M&Ms in a night.”

Jonathan interrupts: “Can I just say something. I polished two last night. I was watching Traitors and it’s very tense for me, so I got through two whole bags.”

Honey then turned the chat to Jonathan’s time in the castle. She said it was ‘one of her favourite things’ watching just how many snacks he ate between the Missions and Round Tables.

Honey clarified: “Well, it’s not one of my favourite things, I feel so stressed watching it on your behalf because I know how nervous you were. But any time it’s a scene outside of the Round Table, you have constantly got something in your mouth!

“Sticky fingers in the cookie jar, reaching in and shoving Snack a Jacks, M&Ms, Malteasers. I’m like, do you know what, I’m my father’s daughter. We are snackers.”

Jonathan joked: “It would have been rude not to!”

Jonathan was banished from the castle last week after being outed as a Traitor. He has no hard feelings about his time on the show coming to an end – even with Ruth Codd.

The Netflix actress reportedly branded Jonathan “a (bleep-ing) snake”. It came after he and fellow Traitors, Alan Carr and Cat Burns, murdered her. But Jonathan has insisted there is “no beef” between them.
