When you decorate your tree, you probably wrap the lights around the tree from bottom to top, but apparently this is the wrong way to do it.

Designer Francesco Bilotto told House Beautiful that it’s better to hang them vertically rather than horizontally.

Bilotto recommends taking the end of your lights which isn’t attached to the plug and starting at the top. Let your lights hang to the bottom of the tree; pull the lights to three of four inches, then work your way up to the top of the tree before working your way down again.

Repeat this process until the tree is completely covered.

This means your lights won’t be hidden in among the branches and they will sparkly, bright and beautiful, all around your tree!
