Comedian Katherine Ryan, who is a guest panelist on The Masked Singer tonight (February 7), has been very vocal about her surgical procedures throughout the years.
Let’s take a look at everything she’s admitted to having done…
Jaw filler
During an appearance on Channel 4’s How’d You Get So Rich? in 2017, Katherine visited a plastic surgeon who admitted he made millions a year by doing nose jobs on other people.
While examining Katherine’s nose, he insisted that hers looked great from the front. However, he said her profile needed some work, declaring he would shave the top down.
Even though she didn’t opt for a nose job, in the same episode, she asked if there was any surgical procedure he could perform ‘quickly’ on her. As he took a look at her face, he complimented her cheekbones but said her jawline was “a little weak”.
As a result, Katherine had jaw filler on the show and saw immediate results she was happy with. “I feel better with myself already,” she admitted.
Katherine’s favourite surgery was her second boob job
On record, Katherine has admitted to having her breasts done twice.
In 2018, while participating in How Many Questions for Just For Laughs, the 41-year-old was asked what her favourite procedure so far is.
In response, she said: “My second boob job.”
Katherine added: “I did it after a breakup because I didn’t want him to see my boobs ever so I was like, ‘Put them in the bin, get new ones.'”
Elsewhere, she wished she “could be having surgery now”, stating that it doesn’t hurt and that she thinks she is “addicted” to the recovery process “because you get opiates”.
In an interview with The Guardian in 2021, Katherine revealed why she wanted her breasts done the first time: “I wanted to alter things, not for any deep dark body dysmorphia. Just… curiosity. I wanted to be feminine, and I wanted to be liked. So I got breast implants. And they were great.”
‘I had really dodgy lip injections’
In the same interview, she confessed that her least favourite procedure was when she had “dodgy lips” done.
Speaking at the launch of Dr Nina Bal’s new London clinic, whom she has been a long-standing client of since 2015, she said: “I had really dodgy lip injections when I was young. And that was because I didn’t have the information or funds to go to the right place.”
“I heard about this amateur doing it in a basement for cash and thought, ‘I’ll just go do it now, and it’ll be fine. And if it doesn’t work out, it’ll just go away within a few months.’ That was when I was 21. It’s never gone away. I still have scar tissue. I don’t know what they injected in my lips. We think it was silicone, but we’ll never know. I’m lucky that it didn’t turn out worse.”
Katherine’s ‘serious’ surgery after giving birth
Eight weeks after giving birth to her fourth child, Holland Juliette, Katherine admitted she had a procedure done.
Katherine has so far kept the exact details of the surgery under wraps, as she hopes it will turn into a “little docuseries” and doesn’t want to spoil it. However, she did share that she met an “incredible” surgeon in York on her Telling Everybody Everything podcast.
